Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

i can see your logic here redleg

i wouldn't be disappointed to see aaron get a run (if fit enough)

he's too good a player not to be given a chance and he might have been carrying an injury earlier in the year

he's one of the few genuine game breakers we have and saturday's conditions should suit him fine

Sorry DC I do not agree with you.

I think this is a problem that has been with the Dees for too long.

Guys like AD have to learn to earn their spot.

IMO he has not done that all year before the injury.

It is not as though he has only been out of a week or two.

Again IMO we have been let done all year by our more senior players.

Don't drop a kid for him.

Let him play at Casey this weekend and get some fitness and touch back.

Try as he might he cannot kick it!

but I am not really trying to kick that one!

come on rpfc grit your teeth and don't click on you know what.

I just can't do it.

I'm not strong enough.

I post, OD. So posters like you, DC, and Redleg don't have to.

I agree, let him find his feet at Casey, same as all other injuries coming back.

I really don't have much to contribute here but I thought I would just add to the thread......

however we need to get Aaron back in form and I thought Darwin being his home town might provide the right spark

yeah I know he probably doesn't deserve it and we need to send messages to senior players etc

Don't want to shock anyone but I haven't seen a Harry Potter movie or read one of the books. Tonight I taped two HP movies on foxtel but note that they are pretty recent. Will I ruin it if I watch the later movies without seeing the earlier ones?

PS. I believe that in one of the books, Harry is made a huge offer by a new school to enrol with them and leave his schoolmates of the last 2 years. No one knows if Harry will leave as he said he will leave it until the end of the school year to decide. His current school has made an offer to keep him, which includes a new desk and bigger food serves in the school tuck shop, but that is way below the offer made by the new school, which includes a chauffeur driven ride to school each day and an exemption from Maths and Physics for the whole year. Apparently the education department is doing everything they can to get Harry to move and it is really pissing off his schoolmates. They have started a blog and are up to 60 pages of posts. The suspense is driving everyone mad. Some people think they know what he is doing while others are insisting they don't. Even the local paper, radio and TV have got in on the act. Can't wait until we find out at the end of the book.

PPS. Apparently the new school is in a crap neighbourhood where no one would know Harry and it is far from his family. Now the education department has said they will compensate Harry's old school if he goes with a new library book but the school will no doubt want at least 2 books.

Great advice. Also its best to pick up the dog droppings before mowing - especially in Winter.

Ever now and then Demon17 you have to spit into the wind.

More news in Harry Potter land. The education department has now said that Harry can't receive the gifts even though another school is giving their star pupil the same sort of gifts. Even someone outside the school is banned from giving him the gifts. Latest news is that a headmaster at another school is being replaced by his deputy headmaster but he still wants to be headmaster and may change schools. The president of his school council is running around trying to stir up trouble with all of the other schools so that people don't concentrate on his school. The education department is really stuffing up the education system.

Went for a walk this morning and it was foggy and cold and I was freezing. By the time I was coming back home the sun was out and I was boiling. You have got to love that Melbourne weather, it's so much nicer than the weather they have in Blacktown.

pffft, LOTR is a masterpiece!

Benno I have not read it for 30 years but back then I found it very heavy going.

Now that might just mean that HP is aimed at kids.

Says something about me perhaps!

I'm slightly embarrassed to admit that I've read all the books and some twice. I think the advice to see the first film before watching the others is good, you'll understand some of the infrastructure behind what your watching, but much better to watch them in sequence. If you watched the 6th film in the series "cold" you'd have no idea of what's going on. Get a copy of the first book, it's short and you'll read it in 3 hours or so. That's the best introduction.

If you don't like fantasy you won't like Harry, but having said that you've told me that you think MFC will win a flag in our lifetime so perhaps you do (believe in fantasy).

Your PS is actually brilliant and could so easily be built into the characters and things in the book. Harry is a brilliant "seeker " in a sport called quididich and would be sort by many other teams but his loyalty to his friends and headmaster would mean he'd never leave.

If you've not read the Hobbit or LOTR's they are both great reads but again, you've got to like fantasy.

Quidditch is a fictional Wizarding sport played in the Harry Potter book series. It is described as an extremely rough, but very popular, semi-contact sport, played by wizards and witches around the world. Matches are played between two teams of seven players riding flying broomsticks, using four balls and six elevated ring-shaped goals. In the Harry Potter universe, Quidditch holds a fervent following similar to the position that association football holds as a globally popular sport.

The sport is featured in every Harry Potter book except for the seventh, when Harry Potter is preoccupied in fighting Voldemort. Harry plays an important position for his house team at Hogwarts as the seeker. Regional and international competitions are mentioned throughout the series. In Goblet of Fire, Quidditch at Hogwarts is cancelled for the Tri-Wizard Tournament, but Harry and the Weasleys attend the Quidditch World Cup. In addition, Harry uses his Quidditch skills to capture a golden egg from a dragon (in the Tri-Wizard Tournament), to capture a flying key in Philosopher's Stone, and on two key occasions in Deathly Hallows—getting hold of Ravenclaw's Diadem, and during the final fight with Voldemort—the "unerring skill of the Seeker" is vitally useful to him in snatching an object out of the air.

The sport has been adapted under the name of "Muggle Quidditch" (or simply "Quidditch") to the real world. Since at least 2003, Harry Potter fans have played ball games resembling the Harry Potter sport. In the United States, teams from more than 200 colleges are affiliated with the International Quidditch Association and play tournaments. Furthermore, high-level Quidditch tournaments are a mainstay of Harry Potter Conventions, such as Nimbus 2003, The Witching Hour, and, most recently, Infinitus 2010.

My life feels so empty now. Are there any racehorses in the Harry Potter stories. Actually mine won at Geelong today and have another racing at Caulfield tomorrow.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
