Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I wonder if there is anyone who we drafted at pick 1 years ago, who did the dirty on us and never won a flag at his next two clubs, who is thinking "what if".  Karma indeed.

That kid did the right thing, if he stayed he would have never been paided more then $ $450,000 a season, he was never any better then a role player.

You know better than that Redleg. There is only one way to 'rail' this thread, and that is getting dangerously close!

Nice work, Daisycutter. There have been times this year where people were using this thread to discuss football matters and it was seriously derailing from the original esteemed purpose.

Premiership Bananas. The way it should be.

He’s back, having grown about 21 cms and pretending to be a 2022 draft possibility, playing in South Australia with West Adelaide.

Will be drafted next year, ensuring the thread continues for another 10-15 years.

How ironic if we draft him again.

Tom S****y

West Adelaide/SA

Ruck/key forward, 201cm, 83kg

Tom S***** is yet another tall prospect from West Adelaide to watch. He worked alongside Barnett in the ruck, but the strong-marking teenager proved a strong target in attack this year, booting 23.10 in 10 matches. Highlighting his potential, S*****, in just the second under-18 match of his career, tallied 18 disposals, 12 contested possessions, four hitouts-to-advantage, two contested marks, two goals and 135 ranking points.

So we are not talking about Hogan? Not sure where he is now but I am sure he would have wanted to be a Demon in 2021!

Life takes us in different directions and hopefully Jesse is happy at GWS, but he must have watched the GF with a lot of “what if” thoughts.

No I wasn’t talking about Jesse, Maurisey got it in his post above.

Hiw are the lily pads in WA Froggy?

It was not that long ago people were saying the Dees would fall apart without Hogan. Glad to see they were wrong. I tend not to follow ex players as I lose interest once they leave the club.

I must have watched the Grand final onslaught at least 57 times and it keeps getting better. I still find it hard to believe the Dees won.

My rehab is going slow after the stroke and it taking much longer then I hoped to get full functionality back to my right side. Fatigue is still an issue. But on a lighter note WA is opening up on the 5 February 2022.

I am hoping 2022 is again the year of the Demons, as only one Grand final win in the past 57 years is not enough. Plus the winning feeling is intoxicating. GO THE DEES!
Merry Christmas and a happy new year to all.

Froggy I was unaware you were unwell.

Please accept my apology and I hope you are on the mend soon. The lily pad will not be the same without your contributions.

I hope the flag is helping you mend and watching the replay is not hindering your exercise.

All the best for a safe and happy xmas and new year, regards from your mate on the other side of the pond, Redleg.

Thank you Red.

Watching the Grand final was great except the second and beginning of the third quarter’s. l am much more emotional since my stroke and was thinking around this time “here we go again”. But that was before the beginning of the onslaught!

Finally, I can watch the Dees win a Grand final on YouTube LOL.

Unfortunately, there is another regular poster that have a greater loss than me. So my deepest sympathy go our to them.

As a Prime Minister once said “life is not meant to be easy”. But sometimes it can be really unfair.

If the Dees can win three of the next five AFL Grand finals, we all should feel a little better.

we both have to hang on for the 5peat and put the filth's record to the sword

I hope you guys, and everyone else on here, actually hang on well beyond the due date for that (last day of September, 2025), but a 4peat would put the C'ood'nt's record to the sword...well, to the dagger at least. If they'd played 1930 under the current, longstanding grand final arrangements, Geelong would have been premiers. So, a pure, 21st century, 4peat will trump the dodgy early 20th century one!

I read this on their wiki page.

😄Yep, we've got to take any and all opportunities to remind them of 2021!

However, a misunderstanding methinks, M. Frog? Geelong would have been 1930 premiers under the current system. They beat C'ood'nt in the first grand final but the C'ood'nts challenged as minor premiers and won the challenge.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
