Surely people are sick of hearing about Tom Scully and his contract. I can tell you he's signed nothing him and his family are sick of what is continually written regarding his contract especially when he indicated to the press in front of the camera that he will sign at years end. He said he would love to stay a demon loved the boys ect.

It's really embarrassing that it continually gets brought up. There is not much more he can say. Why should he? We cleared room in the salary cap (Cameron Bruce) for this EXACT reason. Also we have extra room in the cap as in recent years (last 2years only) have started paying the full 100% before this we were paying 92.5% All this hysteria is just helping his price grow. get a grip and have faith both in the club and the 20 year old kid thats a lot smarter then a bunch of you...

Until a definative comment is made from Tom himself either way, or a contract signed/produced i reckon it's time all TS threads are immediately locked down and banned.

You should live in China. No one is asking you to read them or respond to them.

In repect to him and his family I think he's correct. What will continual threads do but harm the situation? We are making his managers job very easy atm with all the fear mongering. He has stated what he intends to do. At SEASONS end he will sign a contract!! Someone should put it on YouTube and replay it everytime they want they want that answer. He's not signing till the end of the year get over it and stop giving him reasons to leave... $&@! me

Don't be silly, many of the posters here seem to like torturing themselves over the Scully topic, just don't read the threads f you dont like the topic is the answer.

Deleting or banning the threads isn't the answer.

Personally I hate it as well. But its a MFC forum, we should all be able to talk about anything related to the Melbourne Football Club. Tom Scullys contract included.

But in saying this we dont need 20 threads, one should suffice and anything related to Tom Scullys contract talks should be put in there.

Good luck mods.

Thats my two cents.

Even if it's harming the situation...? For the betterment of the club they should be. Especially if he hasn't stated any different to his only press confrence.. He's not going to say any different. Think about it if you were trying to get a pay rise and knew you were in high demand..?

Sick of reading new threads about the Tom Scully situation, so I might start a new one about the Tom Scully situation.

I know his uncle very well & he just laughs and shakes his head every time GWS is mentioned.

His manager read him to be strong enough to deal with the speculation about GWS, to hold on until the TV rights & CBA were understood before commiting!

This way all parties understand the landscape and can negotiate a fair deal.

He is on a standard 2 year contract which is mandatory (Same as Dustin Martin & all other top 10 picks) in 2010 2011, hence the hysteria to sign has been created by the media & forums such as this. John Ralph cannot help himself & is hell bent on him going to GWS.

Cannot wait for his article when Tom commits to the Dees!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haha.... I will SPELL it out for everyone if you can't read between the lines..... It's not looking good if we continually question what he has stated!!! He will sign a contract and the end of the year. No earlier no later.

Thats enough from me.

I also just wanted to see if people like hearing the constant dribble.

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.

    REMATCH by Meggs

The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm. Our last game of 2023 was an agonisingly close 5-point semi-final loss to Geelong, and we look forward to Melbourne turning the tables this week. Practice match form was scratchy for both teams with the Demons losing practice matches to Carlton and Port Adelaide, while the Cats beat Collingwood but then lost to Essendo
