Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

As bad as the squib was (and it was baaaaaaaaad), I thought the stupid 50 metre penalty he gave away was even worse. We were coming at them towards the end of the 3rd, a good start to the last quarter and we were in the game. And rather than work his rrse off to redeem himself, he gifts the Saints a goal, takes the wind out of our boys' sails and pretty much finishes the game off as a contest.

I love Aaron, he's given me many moments of joy over the years, but that was appalling.

If the club is serious, Casey. If Aaron is serious, he's back in two weeks and busting his gut. Call me a fool, but I live in hope.

I'd get him in the boxing ring with Hank and make him go a few rounds then make him run as hard as Beamer does. We'll see how he feels after that. And someone named Hard? blaming the coach for this? maybe because he has been to soft on him for years. Never been able to cop a tag should have dropped him years ago. Really why does he not want to run hard and chase anymore? When is his contract up?

I couldn't believe my eyes today, to see flash pull out of that contest today, there has to be a reason.....I think somethings rotten in denmark behind the scenes, he hasn't played well for 3 to 4 weeks. There's more to this than meets the eye. I'm not gunna bag him when he's down he has enough brownie points up for me to give him some slack...but somethings not just right

I agree. Something is not right.

I want to bag him but that may not be the right call.

He looked like he didnt want to be there very troubling.

I'll second that. There is something going on with him personally. There has to be.

Please no more excuses. The guy is soft as butter, crumbling under the pressure of leadership and hard tags. As has been said, his pathetic costly mistakes today were enough alone for him to be dropped, on top of his insipid form this whole year.

Should. Not. Matter.

The guy is paid A LOT of money as a PROFESSIONAL footballer, surely IF there is something going on he has been around long enough to put it aside for 2 and 1/2 hours.

'Good coaching' is about getting the best out of all players for the benefit of the team!

U r absolutely clueless, seriously how can you even justify that comment, the only person who should be deserving of our sympathy is DeaN bailey. He is coaching a side with no on field leadership. The soft underbelly of years gone past has finally been exposed. I have had no problems with the youngsters efforts to date this season...who has been below par, yep thats right the leadership group (pass marks to beamer and jonesy). As bad a Greeny has been thus far, Davey's effort today was just pathetic. I really do feel for Bailey when one of your most experience and senior players (VICE CAPTAIN) anybody??? not to mention on big coin, plays in the manner he did today.

How could he look his teammates in their eye today???

Two years down the track cannot come quick enough, hopefully the type of football that Davey played today does not permeate through the remainder of the playing group or else we are well and truly shagged

I thought people calling for him to be dropped were being a bit harsh in previous weeks. Cops a hard tag week in week out which is tougher than others give credit for. Obviously needs to find a way to work into the game more, and needs some more help from team mates, and his coach who needs to find ways to help inject him into games e.g. send forward etc. And if nothing else it frees up our other midfielders a little more.

But yesterday was inexcusable. His 'effort' in that marking contest was deplorable, but I was willing to give him a chance to make amends. But was does our vice captain do? He sulks around with his shoulders slumped and his head down, no chat or encouragement for his younger teammates, and complaining of a mysterious knee injury (which as Darcy pointed out was fine enough for him to twist and kick from a pack early in the last). The body language was the worst part of it for me, especially at the start of the 4th quarter when we were a good chance of victory.

If others pay the price for not doing team things and meeting team standards, such as Morton being dropped and Moloney losing the VC for having a night on the [censored], then surely there must be ramifications for this performance.

He is just trade bait now

Agree another trapper for mine.

If it is not too late lets see if we can get something for him.

We are min. 5 years away from a GF he won't be around then anyway.

That line of thinking really is as valid as Davey's marking effort. Every good player gets a tag. Its a lame excuse for his performances this year.

I am glad I had to go to work... can't handle any of this [censored] anymore. Should be some serious changes to this side.

What did Davey do in the last quater?

MacDonald gave away a free kick to Rewolting on 50m. Davey picked up the ball and threw it to MacDonald who was standing on the mark instead of back to Rewolting. Obvious free kick no ambiguity there and he gave away the most moronic 50m penalty I've seen in a long time. It was at start of last quarter. Us 11 points behind. Gifted them a crucial goal and that was the end of us.

Haha why? Cos we'll be given that premiership the magic fairy has promised us?

In two years time we won't be 'led' by Green, Davey, Rivers, Moloney, Jamar, and Sylvia.

But by Grimes, Scully, Trengove, Gysberts, McKenzie, Jones, Petterd, Frawley, Garland, Watts, and Jurrah.

Competitors with more talent that rarely put their head down and show a defeatist attitude like Green, Davey, and Rivers.

I mean, did anyone here really think that with Moloney, Green, Davey, Jamar, Sylvia, and Rivers as our established core group, that we would challenge with them doing the bulk of the work?

Most of those players will need to be playing predominantly periphery roles if we are to be a top 4 team.

Thank god Bailey tanked.

I thought the 'house' was just in need of major renovations when Daniher left...

Turns out the house was an illusion, there was nothing there but a mailbox being held up by an injured Beamer.

Other than squibbing a contest and giving away a stupid 50 in the first min of the last quarter to gift reiwoldt a goal and kill off the game.............

Nothing, nor in the first 3 quarters either, he had 9 possessions, jones had 22 and a goal, he got out tagged and beaten by a average footballer with less leg speed, but with 10 million times the heart.

I have noted that Bailey alluded to looking at what we do with Aaron "but its hard because we need some good kicks across half back". What is the point of someone being a good kick if they dont work to get the ball so they can kick in the first place?

If he wants good kicks across half back he should suck it up and play Strauss, Blease, or Maric off half back.

They will both lose several defensive contests, but so does Davey.

With Grimes, Trengove and Tappy unavailable next week, something has got to give.

I refuse having a backline of Bartram (can't kick to save himself), Warnock (can't make a good decision to save himself), Rivers (average), McDonald (thinks he's superman but isn't) and Davey (weak, soft, gives you no contest) each week for the rest of the season. Watching these guys try to get the ball out of the backline yesterday made me want to stab myself in both eyes.

I agree Jaded. I think his hand will be forced next week as there is no way that backline will be able to match up on Betts, Garlett and Walker. He will need to bite the bullet and bring in some smaller types. We will be expected to lose so the experience that such a game will bring to Blease, Nicholson or Struass will be invaluable.

I just dont think he has the balls to do it.

Can we offload Davey to GWS? Would give us a whole lot of cap space and we can use his "leadership" as a bargaining chip? Chuck in a second rounder for one of their first round draft picks...

How about we trade pathetic supporters like you instead. You are a disgrace to our club.

Davey is one of pur most important players. He had a bad game, live and learn. I wish be could trade supporters like you to GWS.

Well he better go find some balls, because his position at the club is already looking very shakey.

If we go into next week with the same backline he should be taken out into the middle of the ground to get flogged by supporters post-match.

Warnock has been good, and he can take the resting ruckman, Rivers I see no real match up for, but he will probably get Walker. I want Frawley on Garlett and Bartram on Betts.

McDonald is not needed, although I did enjoy him up forward in the first quarter before Tapscott ripped his hamstring. Perhaps he can do a defensive job on Yarran up forward. At least his brainfades won't be as costly in our attacking 50.

The sixth place in the backline has to then go to Strauss or Blease or Nicholson or even Sylvia. Gotta mix it up, but get someone down there who can kick and won't get tagged out of the game by their opponent and their own fears of getting hurt. Pathetic.

Losing Garland and Grimes has absolutely f'ed us up.

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
