The weeks go by slowly for Tom Scully. Every week in which he is injured takes three or four* and I'm wondering whether his season isn't over already.

The official injury list from melbournefc.com.au says three weeks. FWIW here it is:-

Rohan Bail (knee) - 4-6 weeks

Jack Fitzpatrick (ankle) - 7-9 weeks

Colin Garland (ankle) - 6-8 weeks

Jack Grimes (foot) - season

Mark Jamar (knee) - 3-5 weeks

Jared Rivers (ankle) - test

Tom Scully (knee) - 3 weeks

That was after Tom's injury was upgraded from 3 to 6 weeks.

IIRC he's been on the injury list for the past two weeks as well. Him being off means he's 100% fit which is good.

It hurts.

Garland out for 6-8 is a huge blow, he's been in good form all year. Same deal with Bail.

Yes. It does but it hurts a lot less when your team is developing and young because the fact that some of those players are missing gives an opportunity to others to get games before their time would otherwise have come.

None of us would have been contemplating two weeks ago the possible debut this week of a Max Gawn or a Michael Evans. In all probability it's too soon for them to be making their debuts. Yet the thought of these young players getting their opportunities and the hope that they can kick start their careers ahead of time is a compelling one

If they can get games, show something and play well they might well offset the disappointment of losing some of the old regulars.

Garlo, Grimes, Rivers and Bail are all no strangers to the injury list. It sucks, some players just have no luck.

Yes, silver lining and all that, and it's a development year still. But we're pretty much stuffed in terms of winning matches in the short term, which is a shame. It's also disappointing that there are several players on the injury list who we want to be pumping heaps of matches in to for experience, not to mention Trengove.

I'm bracing myself because I think we're going to be put in the hurt locker for a few weeks.

It's also now tough to judge the team, and DB, because we're an already weak team missing 1/3 of their best team (and a bunch of the more important players, too).

I've been interested to find out how Robbie Campbell played in the Casey reserves smashing of Cranbourne in the practise match at the weekend, and to my surprise there was no mention of him in Brad Gotch's player review? Did he injure himself last week (played a half in the 2's last week), or was he rested? I'd have thought, for a player like Campbell coming off such a long playoff with no preseason at all, a practise match against a local team would've been a great opportunity to play 3-4 quarters of a fairly low intensity match and get a bit of game time and run in the legs (albeit against soft opposition). Especially with our current ruck situation.

Troy Davis: Troy can play. He’s building his fitness and showing some really good defensive play. He uses the ball well and showed a bit of dash. He’s going to put some pressure on selection wise.

Cameron Johnston: Cam played really well. He had more than 30 possessions, on top of his 26 last week. So he’s going well and he’ll be pushing for the VFL seniors.

Can anyone shed some light on Robbie's apparent non-inclusion at the weekend?
