Twitter is going ballistic. Good to see, the media will give the AFL a fair bake for this.

Actually it's quite a revealing bonding exercise.....

Wonder if James McDonald will be popping into the club this week?

Means nothing if we don't appeal and take this further.

The bottom line is we need Trengove and he should be playing, and we need to do whatever we can to make that happen.

Of course we can't let this interrupt our short preparation this week, but this is not a footy department matter, it's a matter for Connolly, Schwab etc to deal with now.

I would like us to appeal.

But the club may err on the side of 'frack it.'

As a footy fan, I would like them to appeal as I would love to get some clarification.

There are no football Gods.....there is just Vlad.

And he just thinks he's God......

They might go with "frack it" but it can't get any worse so maybe......

Very tempted to watch as many games as possible this weekend, put together a compilation of the same tackles that do NOT cause a concussion and send it to Footy Classified or something.

Egzackery. If players continue to tackle as normal, there better be at least 3 reports per game this weekend, and about 20 players suspended for a total of 60 weeks. I'll happily support you with the necessary slab, the editing software and the blank DVDs to help further the crusade. Stupid t*rds.

Anyone else get the vibe that after the Dean Bailey stuff and now this all the Dees supporters are actually getting genuinely angry?

Absolutely, and it seems to be having quite a bonding effect.

The part I found most interesting was this:

Mark Macgugan: David Jones (tribunal chairman) instructing panel on factors to consider when deliberating. Reminds them to focus on the conduct, not the consequence to the tackled player.

If this is the case, all the evidence from the Adelaide doctor was irrelevant and should not have been heard.

The game cannot tolerate such thugish acts. The match review panel made a hard but correct stand #afl

The match review panel had to make a stand. Parents need to have confidence that the right message is being sent to their children #afl

Hope she is not referring to Jack Trengove..

EDIT: Caroline Wilson did not make these comments. - Rogue

A 'thugish act'? You've got to be kidding.

EDIT: You've been duped by a satirical Twitter account. Next time provide a link - you could have saved me 45 seconds.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
