I'm not sure how many people are aware, but Liam Jurrah has kicked 50 goals in his first 20 games. He is only the second player in the past decade to do this (last player was the Eagles, Troy Wilson). So in case anyone doubts Liam's credibility as a genuine star, it's worth noting he's kicked more goals in his first 20 games than was kicked by Buddy Franklin, Johnathon Brown, Anthony Rocca or Brendan Fevola. Only 25 other players in the 150 plus years of the VFA/VFL/AFL have equalled Liam's achievement - the Dees' Alan Jakovich was one of them.

He really has made an impact form day 1. His seamless transition from the outback league to AFL is most impressive, almost unbelievable.

Rude Boy-You have declared him all along as a future superstar. He is going to be one.And the glory is not with the Magpies-with the demons. Go LJ- GO DEES.

Let's hope we get more out of him than WCE and Wilson ;)

On a serious note, I think I probably take it for granted that he'll kick some goals and give me some moments worth turning up to the footy for, so it's good to be reminded he's played less than a seasons's worth of games.

Without doubt he's one of the most exciting players I've ever seen in the red and blue. He's up there with Farmer and Jakovich as far as freakish talent goes. Schwarz pre-knee was also in that group. If this is what LJ's been able to achieve in his first twenty games, the mind boggles as to what he can become...

That's so true Strawbs

and what is such a bonus is that he appears to have arrived without personality disorders - the type of individualism that infects the team ethic and eventually erodes it.

His only fault seems to have been that English is not his native language.

All power to L. Jurrah

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
