desperate times call for desperate measures.........

don't do it junior, i don't mind you going to GWS as a mentor to to see you in thier pathetic uniform would just hurt too much

Saw on foxsports Sheedy saying "He likes to annoy people" and he very much succeeds this goal towards me.

Cant stand the bloke at all, would not surprise me if he tried to get the logo of the giants to be a picture of himself.

So happy that we chose Yoda Bailey!!!

I am not a fan of Sheedy either, but he is definately acheiving exactly what he wants to acheive. He is constantly creating headlines and annoying as many people as often as he can. He is in fact, a clever man who knows exactly what he's doing.

On Junior playing this year; I think that if he wants to, then why wouln't he? Especially if the money was good. He definately still has enough ability. And his leadership to the younger players would be invaluable.

Well Jnr's (part-time)job with GWS involves him being specifically in Melb not Sydney

Additionally we are not talking about Jnr playing AFL but some third(or fourth) rate NSW comp

Its all just Sheedy bulls***t to (as he puts it) annoy people and give GWS some free publicity

Oh FFS Sheedy, put the booze down and walk away.

Crazy deluded old man.

And to think some wanted him to coach us. Laughable!

How misguided was that little push! At the time some of us said he was well past it. He'd have been a disaster.

What was the best the Sheedy-push could offer? He'd bring us publicity.

Feeling very vindicated.

Can I just get this off my chest? Sheedy is an absolute tool....I dont know why the football public reveres him so much.

Whatever the opinion of Sheedy, good or [censored], if I was the coach of GWS, I would certainly be encouraging James McDonald to fill this role. In that regard, I think most of us would be trying to do the same thing.

What I don't understand is why Sheedy didn't grab the opportunity to take two more mature age recruits when he had the field to himself in the rookie draft at the end of last year? He had the first eight picks but chose only six.

I agree with those who believe his better days as a coach have passed him by. That's why he has Choko Williams on board. The problem is that Choko is half crazy too but that doesn't matter because half the object of the exercise is to gather publicity for the franchise. This might help raise the club's profile in Melbourne but I'm not so certain that anyone's listening out at Rooty Hill or that those young blokes in the playing group are going to gel into what's required of a team among the elite of the competition.

...........and the more this crazy old bat chirps off mindless crap to the poo hungry media, the more it will open the eyes to anyone they're trying to poach to just what a hopeless place GWS is. Keep it up sheeds you nutball!

How long before gws realize the man has lost the plot! thank goodness he isn't our coach. :o

Hopefully Tom's thinking the same thing!

Well the football public is generally pretty stupid and my justification for saying that is a conversation I had the other day with an elderly gentleman down here in geelong the other day. When asked who I followed in the football I answered " I follow the oldest football club in australia, my football club wrote the rules of the game ", " Oh collingwood " he answered.

My case rests.

Junior has already publicly stated that he has no interest to play and will only work part time at the absolute most, he feels that he needs to take a rest before deciding what to do next in his life.

Source: Sen interview with the OX last week, can't remember which day.

I agree . Sheeds is clever. Is doing exactly what the Afl needs. Their official sniper with open licence.

Piece of cake to redo Jnr contract . I am however curious as to how he'd be eligible having missed all drafts. As an AFL team surely they still have such rules to abide by ? Silly me they , AFL , make them up

Those that mock Sheeds simply fail to see his cunning.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
