attention : everyone

saintsational forum footy organisers deny that this troll has any authority to issue challenges on behalf of their forum...

they have no idea who this poster is...

so this thread boils down to a troll on site, who the mods do not apparently want to shut down, because he/she is providing some amusement to some people on here...

more importantly, anyone found tassie dees' sun glasses ??

I am not just some troll rollo. I actually have taken your side apart in previous games. Thanks for the recognition.

Well im already in the next game, and im calling out deesforspoon to man up on me for the game.

i look forward to this

I'm up for the challenge and you just might want to man me up considering how much damage I have caused to you in previous forum games. Lucky for your 76 assistant coaches I might get a good match up, however I don't think I should be the target of much physical stuff from your club, as I have been fairly reserved on this forum telling you what I think about your woeful club.

I must say I do agree with the original posters comment "All players may be posters on the forum". Having mates of mates turn up and getting a run over regular posters isnt that cool in my opinion. Not that I have missed out.

I just think winning with a team of 30 posters would be a better feeling than with a team of 50 that included non-dee's supporters etc.

Thats I ask for friends of friends throw the fairness and forum concept out the window.

Deesforspoon,

If I may

I realise you come not upon these boards spoiling for a fight. I sense you, like many of us, are very passionate about the game. Youre lucky...you can still play it. Some of us would kill for an opportunity for a "social" game. Alas, time has passed.

What you , I feel, need to understand is that amongst the posters here, indeed its owners and admin are some bloody capable folk. It is simply their nature that if asked to do something, they do it well. If going to do something they will do it properly. That is simply how they do it. Its not a matter of attempting to make it a 'professional' outing as opposed to a 'fun' one. It to all is still FUN...just well run.

Some people know how to organise things...and do. Others are happy to just participate...and do...others can but kick a footy ....and do. Lucky bastards !!!

As many have normal lives and wish to be able to front them come the following Monday Demonland often choose a ground that is accommodating to a fall..i.e..its got grass..and is playable. We like to keep things above board and beyond argument so why not use independent umpires ?

Instead of asking us to diminish our ability to do things..why not lift your game and rise to the occasion. Im sure there are those in the Saintly world whod jump at the chance to participate if only fro the sidelines holding a whiteboard etc. We arent exclusive, we're Inclusive...and its still fun.

probably more so because we win :)

Thanks for what you said you explaining the situation a lot clearer, just a lot of our guys are wondering if you are going over the top. Fine getting professional for a local footy side I can accept that but not for forum level, yes the day can be organised well and planned and so on but we do not need to remove the fun aspect from it, as yet I have yet to encounter another forum that has a coach, professional umpires and so on, and the day still manages to go ahead with minimal fuss, and good feedback from all involved.

I am not doubting you guys run a good show, but for us we cannot much that nor have the volunteers available. I appreciate the effort you go too in arranging the game and look forward to the next contest.

Being the "old bloke" holding the white board last Sunday & hoping to do the same early next year, Please be sure to come up to me next time and introduce yourself (if you are game)so I can try to educate you in a couple of areas...

I agree - I dont understand the posts I read before forum games about "Ive got some mates who are gun footballers coming down" etc etc. Ive been a poster on this forum for a few years now but dont play the forum games because I play footy at a high level, which to me doesnt seem in the spirit of the whole thing.

My understanding was that its a social game meant to be fun between forums, and to give people who wouldnt otherwise get the chance to play a competitive game of football the chance to do so?

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.

    REMATCH by Meggs

The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm. Our last game of 2023 was an agonisingly close 5-point semi-final loss to Geelong, and we look forward to Melbourne turning the tables this week. Practice match form was scratchy for both teams with the Demons losing practice matches to Carlton and Port Adelaide, while the Cats beat Collingwood but then lost to Essendo
