Did everything expected of him as a No.2 draft pick. Was probably shaded by Scully but definitely did his bit and earned his spot. Will be a valuable part of the Melbourne midfield for years to come - Luke Holmesby melbournefc

Jack started off very well but tappered during mid year and was just coping at the end of the year. Looked a little slow at times. A big pre season will really bring him on.A very long term player whom could be anything.

I liked the confidence Trengove had in his own abilities from the 1st game. Like Scully not afraid of kicking on non-preferred running at top speed, and showed plenty of footy smarts. Just needs to keep building up his engine and polish up his overhead marking which let him down a few times that I remember.

KotD.

What the hell does/has this got to to do with this thread-King of the Dots? .Gee they breed them well in Tassie.

No comment on the above.

JT - what a star.

The biggest argument is who will he be more like - Hird, Bartel or Buckley?

Love this kid.

Thanks for a superb First up year Jack T. You wore number 9 Proudly.

I shall always remember your first Goal. It was the moment our long Journey started. B)

Kissed on the D...

As we were when Jordie McMahon kicked that famous goal after the siren.

The abbreviation has become somewhat of a catchphrase on this forum, in reference to the cards falling in our favour.

Mostly in regards to landing Scully and Trengove, but it is versatile.

For instance, I was KotD when I discovered/remembered that I had the foresight in the preseason to put $50 on Judd as his odds were ridiculously high following his pressure-point suspension.

Only realized after the count was over and I'd spent the last hour cheering for Swan to catch him.

15-1 baby.

Very nice. Congrats.

Terrific debut year for JT. As WYL said, I'll never forget his first goal against the team he supported as a kid.

I agree, actually think he is a better kick than Scully.

I am not worried he ran out of puff as the season progressed.

22 games is a long time for a first year recruit.

I expect he will have a great 2011.

Nicely put JCB, he looks a beauty Jack but did come back looking to lack a yard after his injury.

A long first year that leaves not much doubt he will be a star for us for another 10.

Great debut season by Jack ... it would be unreasonable to have expected more. Hopefully he will be part of an elite midfield in two or three years.

Seems to have a cool head in a crises, and the tools to be able to do something about it. I get the feeling he will get better every year.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
