From the top:

Frawley - what more can a player do? I said in another thread he's the new Glen Jakovich, and I'll say it again here.

Dunny - Dunn has stunned me with his development. That goal after the siren was a cracker, and he KNEW he'd kick it. I didn't.

Davey - smooth as silk, cut through Richmond like they were warm butter.

Green - all class, vice-like hands, and a great snap.

Jurrah - could and should have had 7

Bail - pace, balance, can deliver.

6. The strange moustached fellow in #14. Not sure who he is or what he's done with Lynden Dunn, but I definitely like this guy better.

3. Jurrah - Bails and co showed why they get paid the large coin and I pay for the privilege of my offerings: I had him as an 'out' this week . This could have easily been a huge bag had his kicking not been wayward.

I gotta agree with you re Dunn.

I would be described around here as a "Dunn-basher", but FMD he has turned himself and his career around. What is even more remarkable is that he is clearly carrying a foot injury. Anyone who saw him coming to the bench today would see that he can barely put weight on one of his feet, and is hobbling badly. Amazing effort from him to really drag us through some rough patches 2 weeks in a row. I'm going to give all credit to his dirty mo! :)

I'd say that apart from Green, our senior players were relatively quiet today. Junior wasn't at his best, Bruce had good patches but didn't do a lot, and Jamar is clearly not 100% fit, and yet we managed to drag ourselves over the line thanks to the efforts of Scully, Watts, Bail and Jurrah in the last quarter.

Also, I f'ing love James Frawley!!!!

Bruce had good patches but didn't do a lot

Bruce was involved in that one play of pure poetry in the third quarter with his absolutely cracking kick between the 50 arcs to Sylvia, which resulted in the goal in the square to Wonaeamirri. Can't remember anything else he may or may not have done, but that particular bit was worthy of huge props I reckon. That one play, which started with Joel Macdonald in defence, was the highlight of the game for me.

Very even effort this week, difficult to rate who was more important, here's my try!

6. Dunn - What an improvement for him this year!

5. Frawley - Kepping Jack to 1 goal is a massive win!

4. Davey - Skillful display

3. Bartram - I would not have said this 1 year ago.

2. Bruce - Important wins in defense

6. Frawley - answered the Riewoldt v Frawley question emphatically.

5. Dunn - has well and truly arrived!

4. Jurrah - straighter kicking and he would have been BOG (kicked 4.4, should have had at least 6 or 7)

3. Davey - the cream of the crop

2. Green - my favourite for a much deserved B&F award...

1. Scully - easy to forget he's just 18

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
