Funny they used a photo of him in a Casey jumper.

Picture in the paper is of his mark against Dogs...nothing against Casey but have to have the Dees jumper surely!

thought this kid needed this thread bumbed as idont want to start a new,

Jamie today along with this season has grown in leaps and bounds and i really was impressed not just with his attacking play but his overall defensive attitude and willingness to take the gam on.

I just hope Jamie keeps on applying himself and just could be that next big thing.

I love it when he backs his pace to beat opposition players. He can look really good when he's on.

And since that's the first time i've read that article, it'll be handy having him as a cricketer for the next time we player the filth in a twenty:20!

If he starts to get the footy 20-30 times a game he will be very damaging.

He would be my pick along with Wona as smokeys on our list to become A graders.

getting involved.

Jamie has turned the corner for the better since an indiscretion earlier in the year. He's having a go & really taking it to 'em.

That indiscretion has been the catylist Imo, to this maturity.

He was fantastic today, but Sydney were woeful, & there was space everywhere.

His target for next year should be to double his current average possession count.

It can be difficult to get a lot of the ball when you're playing as a small forward, especially when we're getting smashed in the middle and the ball is barely seen in our forward 50, but he is so damaging when he gets it, that for me, he needs to push up the ground when his corner of the world is drying up, and get his hands on the footy.

20 possessions a game from Bennell, is like a 20 possession game from Davey because it means 18-19 disposals that are so spot on they burn the opposition and put us into a scoring position. And like Davey, his first instinct needs to become "run".

Agree with that. He has many weapons at his disposal, wouldn't go as far as saying like Rioli but similar in that he has potential to be very very damaging.

    Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval.     With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals.     The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm. Our last game of 2023 was an agonisingly close 5-point semi-final loss to Geelong, and we look forward to Melbourne turning the tables this week.
