Few people over at 'Ology have been having a quiet chuckle at this one guys. So for the benefit of those of you who haven't seen it over there, I thought I may bring it to your attention.

It appears that our narrow minded and blinkered friends over at "The Punt Road End" think they have an opportunity to snag Tom Scully from us at the end of next year.

This football club is truly at an all time low. Clearly not learnt any lessons from past mistakes.

Try Try and Try again Toiges!!!!

I saw that earlier on 'Ology and had to go and have a look. It gave me a pretty good chuckle knowing that however deluded we are at times that lot live in a different universe.

I was tempted to start an account called "After the siren" or "JM's pick" and have a giggle at them but then I figured it was funnier to let them go.

I believe he barracked for Richmond before he was drafted.......and that's where it ends!

CORRECT. Buddy Franklin was a dee's supporter as a kid and loved Garry Lyon, so based on the Punt Road Theorem we are a shoe in to go after him and attain him next season.

I mean I could see why TS would want to play for the Toiges. Lot of positives thee. He will be retired before they get near a flag again!

So did Chris Spudd! Loved the Dees and Garry.....so much so that when Garry tried to get him to Melbourne a few years ago - he went to Carlton!

It's a good thing we here at Demonland have never started threads about targeting a player that has some very loose connection to the club, like that he barracked for the club as a boy or has a brother playing for us.

LOL。。 yeah had a read.. i dont think they have much chance.. but then again if i was drafted to any club.. i would do anything to play for the dees..

You say that now, but i reckon once your given an opportunity by a team, presented a jumper, given your first game, accepted into their culture and make new friends that previous allegiance would start to diminsih.

Supporting a club and playing for a club are 2 very different things...not that i'll ever experience it at that level.

Gee these Tigers supporters are deluded! Unlike Melbourne fans, nobody here has ever made a post about Judd coming to Melbourne because he barracked for the Dess, Warnock coming to play with his brother, Queenslanders and other interstaters wanting to go home.

If i was a Tiger Supporter i would be thinking the same thoughts-I don't Blame them.

I just do not like their chances-They had their chance last year, but legiiamately after the siren they won a certain game. AND CELEBRATED THE FACT!!!

I remember reading a classic piece that GoodVibes highlighted. We should post it on Punt Road!

There is a reason why we are trying to extend's Scully's contract, when he has only played 7 games. It's because every club, from Richmond to GWS will want a piece of him and will go after him.

The stupidity of Richmond supporters is not that they want to get him, but that they think he would come to them when he has not ever expressed any desire to leave Melbourne. That's the difference between what we did with Judd and Warnock, who were both on the move, and what they are doing with Scully. The kid has a two year contract and will probably have a four year one by year's end.

Got to be one of the funniest and yet saddest things to have read for a while.

Scully will appreciate where his future lays. he will have the oportunity to play in a decade of Demon success or elsewhere for what ??

Richmond are a basketcase, delusional from the CEO down. Wouldnt want to be a Toige for quids and they probably deserve better for all the false starts, but thats life. They can only dream of the talent we now have. Somewhat ironic in that they are the ones who presented us with the double pick !!

Poor Richmond.....poor poor delusional Richmond !!

Honestly, they great thing is that every demons player knows we are building towards something special. They see Morton, Strauss, Blease, Tapscott, Gysberts training and not making the team just yet. They know we'll be a force.

Any of our players would be crazy to leave to another club. We're the team that will be dominating this upcoming decade.

That's the reason why I actually feel happy knowning Mclean is at Carlton. He couldn't see us developing, and he wanted out. good! see ya later mclean and never come back. We don't need ya, and we'll wave at you on the way past as we climb over carlton next year.

I feel like signing up and saying, 'Blame Jordan McMahon, if he didn't kick that goal you'd have one of Scully or Trengove'

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.

    REMATCH by Meggs

The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm. Our last game of 2023 was an agonisingly close 5-point semi-final loss to Geelong, and we look forward to Melbourne turning the tables this week. Practice match form was scratchy for both teams with the Demons losing practice matches to Carlton and Port Adelaide, while the Cats beat Collingwood but then lost to Essendo
