Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Oh.

Ta E25.

He's going to be our Selwood. In the sense that the team will be settled and he'll be given the perfect initiation.

He sounds like an effing good kid. Can't wait to see him in our Premiership team

I have a feeling that was a digitally altered photo.

Ha that's what I was thinking. They've done an ok job (better than usual) if it is.

I have a feeling that was a digitally altered photo.

Had me convinced it was real... very good effort if it is altered. I was thinking he must have come to train with the team over his summer holidays or something.

Either way, it's a great sight.

Looks fairly built for a 15-yr-old as well (more so in the previous article).

I'm positive the photo has not been digitally altered.

For a start, the big story is the doggies boys, but they don't bother to do the same for their article..?

No way it's photoshopped.

Justhear he racked up 40 touches in the under-eighteens. CAN'T FRICKIN WAIT

Soon he'll be doing that in SANFL before he's even old enough to be drafted.

I've been keeping tabs on him since prior to the 2010 draft. All the info I had, has been posted,so cant add anything new. He rejected the chance to play with his old mans team, and went to where Jay Viney played.

He cant have Todds N0 12 unless Sylvia hands it over.

But he could be a chance for N0 26 Jay Vineys old jumper.

Off topic. Is there another James coming our way?

J.Grinter - Rods kid.

From the limited sources I tracked down, might be an outside chance to make it.

As I understand if he is good enough for another club to want to use a first round pick on him, being he's the son part in the father son equation, all we have to do is offer up our first round pick for him and he is ours.

If he is any good, WS will offer one of their first rounders for him which will force our hand. But I suppose the plus side of that is it doesnt matter if our first pick after 15- he comes to us.

This is all of course assuming he is worthy of a first round pick, I haven't seen him play. Plus, i'm not actualy sure if what I have said is correct, so we will need clarification from someone who actualy knows facts. Cue- someone else..

My understading is yes you are right we can over rule other clubs selection of him PROVIDED he agrees. There have been a couple of examples of clubs wishing to draft under the father/son rule and the boy himself said he did not want to go to the club of his father. Therefore, if he is considered not the best kid in the draft and adelaide finished say 15th, Jack might decide he wants to play for the club where his father is assistant coach and stay in the city where his family has its roots and where they currently reside.

To my knowledge, neither Todd nor Jack have expressed a preference that he comes to Melbourne. Adelaide could well cazump us.

also carlton have lodged papers to get the buckley kid that is carving up atm so that WS cant get him as one of their 17 year olds.. so i cant see why we wouldnt be able to do the same thing if he was good enough

only if he agrees. It is significant that Jack has recently signed for North Adelaide even though his father played anumber of games for Sturt. The Vineys are very strong Adelaide people and Todd is an assistant coach at the Crows - I wouldn't say this is a done deal by any means particularly if the Crows spend a couple of years at or near the bottom which at the moment looks likely. Todd may well opt for Adelaide over the Demons

Apparently he's the youngest player in his league in decades too...

All sounds pretty good so far. Give him a couple of years though. If he does a Swift and gets hurt somehow (which given how hard he apparently is at it, might happen) then maybe things'll change? If a week is a long time in footy, 2 years is an ETERNITY!

My understanding is that the MFC have been in regular contact for years and that Jack has accepted that his career lies at Melbourne.

If the photo hasn't been altered it's just another reinforcement that that will be the case.

I'm sure Barry Prendegast would have gone along to watch Jack Trengove play in a few school games for PAC after the state championships last year. Would not surprise me if he had a little chat with Jack after one of those matches.

I reckon he wouldve stopped in for a chat with Viney every chance he got.

Gotta make him feel the love.

I cant wait until the herald sun comes out a with a graphic of a poker hand of our 4 jacks (Watts, Grimes, Trengove and Viney) with Scully as the ace in the hole!!!

My pick will be:

Watts: hearts

Trengove: Diamonds

Grimes: Clubs

Viney: Spades

Scully: Ace of spades.........

Book mark this, I reckon it will happen a week after we draft Viney (or when he gets is rising star nomination)

Cam Schwab on Twitter says the club sent Jack a Melbourne guernsey last year.

So that suggests to me its not a digitally enhanced photo...

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
