Congratulations Brad well done.

There have been plenty of knockers on the way but you've shown them all.

That he has.

He would be so damaging in a top 4 side, I just hope he's still playing when we make it back up there.

For some reason he got a 'soft' tag put on him, I could never understand why either. There are few in the AFL that have thrown their head at contests with as much disregard for their health as Green.

I just hope the boys can put in a decent effort for his 200th, he deserves it.

I was worried when he left the ground in a neck brace on Saturday, I though his 200 would be for a while!!!

Can not wait for this Saturday against the pies... 2 bad im bringing a colling-crap mate with me, ferrel pie!!!

Great hustle from Bradley, definitely deserves a good showing from the rest of the team against the Pies for his courage and committment.

Absolute champ. One of our Top 5 players every year for his whole career. What's more he had the chance to jump off what he could easily have dismissed as a sinking ship to chase a combination of better money and/or success but he stuck with us showing a level of loyalty he frankly didn't owe us.

If Junior hasn't got another year in him after this I really hope the boys vote him as our next captain. He would be a worthy MFC captain.

Congrats Greeny, kick a bag against the Pies.

Greeny for Skipper next year!

200 games. Well done Brad Green. Timed it well for Collingwood.

Yes, a glorious victory, against all the odds, over the old enemy would, indeed, be a fitting way to crown his 200th! A wonderful servant of the club over many years...!

Same here. Well, first sentence anyway - he looked a gonner; I'll pass on your second, with its strange spelling and sentiment.

I think more people are starting to see that he is our best bet as FF or at least FP. Even after - no, especially after - he came back on the ground, he showed he can straighten the side up; he's one player that combines guts with terrific balance and skill. Just a pity he hasn't a bit more leg speed. But he's played some very gritty games in the last very dim few years, and to my mind looks like the captain.

I was idly glancing at some threads on demonology, where the intelligence and courtesy quotients are down somewhat, and some prat had remarked in his post that Green was no good, that he'd 'gone missing' on Saturday!!!! Wonder if that cretin was at the game or relying on Rex.

Congrats on the 200th Brad. Hope it is a great game for you and that the boys really put in an extra effort. Young enough to play many more for the Dees. Has been a great Demon over his career so far.

Posted

Has been a top player for the club, especially towards the latter part of the decade.

If the players can't step up and put in for Brad I'll be that worried - I'll be livid.

I expect the ENTIRE MFC on & off the ground to absolutely FIRE UP & give everything for Brad Green & the jumper as he did last week.

I do not think any excuse is acceptable. Brad Green deserves a 4 Quarter effort for the next 21 weeks.

His courage should be bottled. Well done Brad Green, i will be there on saturday.

Go Demons..18

I've had my issues with Green in the past but in the last few years he has proven himself a true Demon. There are several on our list who would do well to watch and learn from his efforts. Rolling the Pies would be a fitting tribute. Can we do it. By Friday arvo I'll be back on the "Yes we can" train.

Never understood the soft tag either. The only thing I was ever critical of him was looking at himself on the big screen far too often when he was lining up for goal. Glad he`s cut that out now!

In 3 years of absolute gloom and doom, he has been 1 of the only shining lights. He has become a fearless and immensely respected player. Great stuff Brad!

very well deserved

has kept going from strength to strength as the years have gone by

will be very fondly remembered when his time is up

I'm another that has never understood the soft tag. In recent years that seems to have gone where it belongs anyway thankfully.

Another big fan of Brad here.

Congratulations Brad. Rarely 'goes missing' in games even when we are soundly beaten ie. the mark of an excellent footballer by any standards.

Masive respect to Brad Green.

It is diabolical that he is not current captain, or at least vice captain.

And considering the two guys we have in those spots, it becomes something way beyond diabolical.

Greeny, you are a star and your toughness is an inspiration.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the

We'll break down the Match SIM against North Melbourne and wrap up the preseason with insights into training and our latest recruits. Thankfully, the offseason has recharged me, and I’m back—ready t
