So far, Grimesy has been a medical story gone right - good diagnosis, good recovery programme, giving him the chance to do what we knew he can do on the field.

Colin Sylvia is in the same boat, has recovered from some fairly debilitating injuries to play some spectacular footy.

Here's to the dees getting the very best out of our boys and when i think of Colin and Jack's hard work and their achievements so far, i hope that the other Colin can do the same. We have had too many fantastic players cruelly cut down by injury in the past, we should celebrate the ones who make it.

Great read.

Hope they can do the same for Garland & Meeson

Great story. Also interesting to read that Grimes will be a designated tagger or 'run with' player, according to Sean Wellman.

He's good enough to play a defensive position in midfield and still pick up 20+ possessions.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

Very heartening to read about his dedication and the way he persevered to overcome a debilitating injury (wish he'd lend me some patience!).

As some would say around here, we've been kissed on the dick with this kid!:wub:

Really going out on a limb there WYL! :D

Maybe! But if the kid has a chronic back problem each great game he plays will be a beautiful bonus.

We all remember Allen Jakovich but he wasn't with us for that long...Bad backs rarely get better, that's my main concern with Frank.

May I say this kid has his head screwed on properly, works hard at it and is no bludger on the track, unlike Jako. He is also younger and his fitter body will recover better with the added hard work and improvements in physio and core strengthening programs.

While any back injury is a worry, especially if it occurs more than once, Jack is better placed to make it than Jako would ever have been. Let's hope so anyway.

'Why you little', many females and kids , not only in my household read this forum so how about cutting out the so called clever "language".

This might help even more people enjoy the forum.

You are far from being clever, with that sort of irresponsible dribble.

Very interesting read. Just goes to show the importance of posture and running technique and how poor posture/technique can affect the back/hamstrings.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
