I'm sure Junior & Dean Bailey spend a lot of time working out strategies both during the week & Match days.

Junior maybe the preferred captain at this point because he communicates these strategies the best way, without being the "Best" player in the side.

Brad is a Great Player who gives 110% all the time but i think he is a little introverted as a people communicator.

I'd be happy with him as vice and even captain one day if he progresses in that role.

I was making a joke about Shaun Burgoyne being the last 'best' player to be made captain, because he was Mark Williams' first choice as captain but the board decided another player had better leadership skills and was better suited to the role.

Sylvia said his stand-out season had a lot to do with the advice of key people and credited captain James McDonald in particular for helping him to concentrate on football.

"He's just got such a good footy brain and in life as well. He will listen to you, but he will give you advice straight down the line as well. He's an old-fashioned country guy, who won't beat around the bush - he'll tell you how it is," Sylvia said.

"It's taken him a long time to get where he is - probably five years ago no-one would've thought he'd be where he is now. He's become one of the best leaders at the club [and] he's respected that much it's unbelievable.

"He does everything so professionally and always does things right. He's someone you can really look up to."

I just can't believe that so any true supporter would want James McDonald out of the side.

He is the most decorated player on our list - our only All Australian - and one of the top ten in the most recent season (per last year's B&F) despite injuries.Yes DB loves him - but so do the players. He was the standout in our democratic captaincy selection process.

He has the respect of those in a position to know - and those who think they know better - from their vantage point on the other side of the fence - need a radical change of thinking
