He looked bigger than that when playing in the VFL finals. Kicked a few nice goals against us. I thought he was rookied and was guaranteed 2 years. Anyway, on what I have seen of him in a few games, I can understand the decision to delist.

Would be keen on Salopek. He is a Narre boy, would like to see him come home and play for the dees. Have not heard any concrete sources out here that suggest he is on the move. I will keep my ears open around the traps and see what I can find out.

Carlton's intention is to slow down any progress made by MFC in trade week. Delaying MFC on the Mclean deal, will make it hard to do other trades.

ADELAIDE

Although Victorian duo Chris Knights and Richard Douglas have attracted interest from Melbourne-based clubs, the Crows insist they won't be returning home. Recruiting manager Matt Rendell believes Adelaide's best team doesn't have too many gaping holes in it, which means the Crows are likely to be a quiet player in what looms as a busy trade week.

BRISBANE LIONS

Richmond defender Andrew Raines looks set to join, with the Tigers likely to receive a third-round pick. Bomber speedster Andrew Lovett has visited the club, although coach Michael Voss says there are no guarantees. West Coast's Brent Staker is in the mix, with Bradd Dalziell potentially heading back west. Reports have also suggested Joel Macdonald could be on the move. And could the Lions be Brendan Fevola's new home?

CARLTON

All eyes will be on the Blues this week as they attempt to trade Fevola. Several clubs have already ruled out 'Fev'. Now it's a case of who is prepared to claim this year's Coleman Medallist? Will it be the Lions, Magpies or Swans or will he remain a Blue? Carlton has already been busy in pre-trade activities, all but securing Melbourne midfielder Brock McLean for pick No.11 via an in principle agreement.

COLLINGWOOD

Not surprisingly, the Magpies were quickly linked with Fevola once news broke of Carlton's desire to trade him. Media reports have suggested president Eddie McGuire is keen to lure to Fevola to the Lexus Centre and recruiting manager Derek Hine has not ruled out the possibility. Darren Jolly is also understood to be keen to return to Victoria, with the Pies believed to be interested.

ESSENDON

Port Adelaide dynamo Shaun Burgoyne is on the move and although his preferred destination is Hawthorn, the Bombers remain a player in trying to secure his services. Lovett has already signaled his intentions to move on from Windy Hill, but will he become a Lion? He has also been linked to Fremantle. Reports have also suggested the Dons will have a crack at former St Kilda captain Luke Ball.

FREMANTLE

Coach Mark Harvey has already confirmed Brett Peake and Marcus Drum are set to move on. Peake has been strongly linked with St Kilda, with Drum attracting interest from Hawthorn and Geelong. Despite strong interest from Victorian clubs, Fremantle remains adamant forward-turned-defender Chris Tarrant will serve out the final year of his contract in 2010, before any thoughts of returning home.

GEELONG

Recruiting manager Stephen Wells has already said that keeping the 2009 premiership list together will be the club's greatest challenge, due to Total Player Payments (TPP) restraints. Whether that forces the club to move on some players during trade week remains to be seen. Mathew Stokes is one player that has attracted interest from West Coast. Drum is in the mix to join the Cats.

HAWTHORN

Looks set to be a major player this week with Burgoyne and Josh Gibson hot on the Hawthorn radar. Burgoyne and Gibson have stated their intentions to play with the Hawks, but how those deals will occur remains intriguing. Port Adelaide is eyeing off Jordan Lewis or Grant Birchall, but it seems unlikely the premiership duo will depart. North Melbourne may opt for picks in return for Gibson.

MELBOURNE

The Demons announced in grand final week it had secured pick No.11 for McLean, although officially that deal still needs to occur. Carlton list manager Steven Icke has indicated a little more may need to be added to that deal. The Demons will also monitor Burgoyne, but acquiring additional picks will again form a focus for the youth-driven red and blue.

NORTH MELBOURNE

New coach Brad Scott has already made his intentions clear on Gibson, saying he will be moved on, as he no longer wants to be part of the club. It appears Gibson will become a Hawk during the week. Head of football Donald McDonald has confirmed the Roos will try to help Sam Power, Daniel Harris and Matt Riggio find new homes. At this stage the trio has not been strongly linked with rival clubs.

PORT ADELAIDE

With Burgoyne set to move on from Alberton, trying to nut out a deal with Hawthorn, Essendon or Melbourne – or possibly even St Kilda – remains the challenge. The front-runner remains Hawthorn. Coach Mark Williams wants Lewis, but it's unlikely the Hawks will release him. With the retirement of ruckman Brendon Lade, the Power is expected to make a play for Melbourne's Mark Jamar or Carlton's Shaun Hampson.

RICHMOND

It will be interesting to see how involved Richmond becomes in trade week. It hasn't been heavily mooted with players, although the Tigers look set to release Raines to the Lions for a third-round selection (No.44). Speculation mounted before the end of the season that Jordan McMahon could be moved on to St Kilda. Shane Tuck will also be one to monitor this week, with his future unclear.

ST KILDA

This year's runner-up should again be active in trade week, having been one of the more successful clubs with this form of recruiting in recent times. The Saints are believed to be making a play for Burgoyne, with Ball a possible trade option. Peake is favoured to join the Saints from Freo and it is understood Fevola has nominated St Kilda as one of his preferred destinations. Will the Saints be the ones to take him on?

SYDNEY SWANS

Like the Saints, the Swans have been one of the most successful clubs in trade week in recent years. Again, the red and white will be right in the thick of the action. West Coast ruckman Mark Seaby looks set to move to the harbour city, although the Swans could lose Darren Jolly back to Victoria. Amon Buchanan is also reportedly on the move. Many have mooted Fevola for the Swans, but the club says it's unlikely.

WEST COAST EAGLES

Seaby looks destined for the Swans, although it is not clear what West Coast will receive in return at this stage. Brent Staker has stated his intentions to move on, with the Lions right in the mix for his services. In return, it could acquire Western Australian Dalziell, who is attracting interest from West Coast. Victorian Matt Spangher has also signaled his intentions to return home, although the club is keen for him to remain.

WESTERN BULLDOGS

The Dogs have already declared they want departed Swan Barry Hall to improve their key forward stocks. Hall also wants to join the red, white and blue. Coach Rodney Eade says Hall remains the priority ahead of Fevola. Andrejs Everitt has also attracted interest from rival clubs, but Eade says the versatile tall will remain at Whitten Oval. Everitt is contracted for another two years.
