What a game by the boys!!! Jurrah just continues to do things that only Jurrah can, what a goal (and a great speccie by Robbo too).

As for the umpires, they were absolutely shocking, particularly #22.

Just before the bounce it was wet, cold and windy. But after half time it was actually very nice. Sunny and warm with little breeze to speak of. As for the crowd, 13,004 is a very weak effort, even given the weather this morning. It was a game in which everyone knew Melbourne could, should and wanted to win. For those that did turn up, we were well rewarded with probably our best football of the year, minus the start.

For those who didn't rock up, where they could have, or because the weather was not right, for shame. What today revealed was that there are very few true loyal Melbourne supporters that stick with the club no matter what.

Everyone played their part today, even Paul Johnson. A great day in which all 4 seasons where on display as well as the future of our club. It revealed who should really be wooden spooners, but we will take picks 1&2, thank you very much Mr Demetriou.

I know I know, no opposition, but there were some genuinely great ball movements and the more we grew in confidence the better we played, which was good to see.

I'm a big tanking fan, and I want us to lose the next two (which we will easily), but it was great for the boys to have one really huge victory this season to enjoy until next year.

Oh and Liam Jurrah is a freak of nature. He turns [censored] into gold.

100% spot on. I loved it there today - after being in two minds the last two weeks it was nice to just get out there and barrack for a win. Such a shame that only 13,003 other people got out there. Sitting in the MCC members I got the chance to speak briefly to Matty Whelan and Paul Wheatley, as well as Cam Bruce, Big Jimma, R.D. Barassi and Don McLardy!! Such approachable people and genuinely interested in their supporters!!

Wonder who the dirty mug Freo player was that had a wizza during their pre game warm up .When they did a bit of a kneeling stretch in front of our cheersquad end goals, he casually flipped it out and had a sidewinder thinking no-one could see from behind. Didn't recognize him but a thinner version/size of Tarrant.

Karma got you ya mug and hopefully the league will have a bit of a talk to you too. Why would you want a wizz only 1 1/2 minutes after entering the ground? Should get his faced rubbed in it. Then again they are only a bunch of W A 's country bumpkins and don't know any better.

Great win today.

Despite how crap Freo were, the most pleasing thing for me was that we played a level of footy that we haven't been able to produce for 3 years, with a team that did not include names such as Green, Bruce, Jamar, Warnock, Grimes to name a few. Our work in close was great, and despite Sandilands getting his hand to almost everything, our midfield was well on top. All of our forward options looked dangerous, our backline was sure as ever, even without Warnock, and we dominated all over the ground. The first real comprehensive match-day coaching performance of Dean Bailey today too.

Jurrah is just awesome, so is Davey, and Bate played an absolute beauty of a game. He cops a lot of flack from some posters, much he doesn't deserve. He's been fantastic pretty much all year in my opinion. Robbo found some of his old spring and was bouncing around like a jack-rabbit. And big Paul Johnson had one of his better performances this year, in nulifying Sandilands' effect on the game.

Scary to think that Freo are pretty much at full strength. They are a weak rabble at the moment.

Very poor crowd. 13004. Wehre was everybody? 1pm start didn't help me, sleeping in meant i got there only just before quarter time. But i'm very glad i didn't miss the next 3 quarters because we just punished them. It was a very sweet victory indeed.

I guess the only consolation of the small crowd was that the kick on the G after the match wasn't anywhere near as packed as it used to be back in the day. All who didn't turn up missed out on the best performance we've had in a very long time. A dominant display by our boys and a really good win.

Freo were crap and handed us our 4th win. Was nice to go out there and barrack hard for a win again, I forgot how nice it was to win by so much. But I still really hope we don't get an upset victory in the last two, however unlikely it may be. Back to experimentation as we meet an arrogant but flaky Carlton team next week i think.

Unbelievable isn't it? The only problem with that win (other than the crap opposition) is how many of that 22 will be there in the future? Of the 25-odd guys that are out, so many would walk straight into the side.
