Geelong game logistics

I'm thinking of going down to Skilled with my young boy on Saturday. What is the best way to get tickets - ie. throught the Club (we're members), at the ground, etc. Can you buy a seat? Will need one for the young bloke.

If you catch the train to Geelong, are there buses to the ground?

Any advice welcome...

Ticketmaster sells SS tickets.

Reserved seats are now extremely limited - I'm not sure you can get two together (I know there were no sets of three available this afternoon).

There's general admission but from what I gather there's limited seating and if you miss out you'll be standing for the game, which might be tough for a child.

I went down to Skilled last year for a NAB pre season game. I took the train which was a 'Footy Special' that went to South Geelong. From South Geelong it was about a 5 minute walk to the ground if I remember correctly, nothing too bad. Matter of fact, I think you pass the ground on the train just before you arrive into South Geelong.

Glad to hear you & your little fella will be making the trip down. We need as many there as we can get (and nobody give me that crap that it is "too hard"!)

As stated above - Ticketmaster seels the tix. You can by them during the week or buy them at the gate - either way, would be best to get there early as there is only a small section of GA seating.

Jump on a V-Line train from Southern & get off at Sth Geelong - no more than a 3 min walk (just follow everyone else lol).

Would advise against driving - no parking really (street parking only).

South Geelong Station is 2 blocks from the stadium. Its the equivalent of walking to the G from Jolimont.

Got 2 tickets yesterday but ticketmaster said as there were no two seats together, we could sit close to one another, so we got two standing only.

Thanks all for the advice, much appreciated. Got a couple of tickets two seats apart so hoping a couple of cats ferals will swap seats so I can sit with the young bloke.

Train times are not flash. You get there at either 1pm (too early) or 2pm (too late). Looks like a bit of kick to kick outside the Cattery.

Looking forward to an old-fashioned day at the footy, albeit surrounded by opposition. Anyway, not like I am expecting (or wanting) a win so an honourable loss would be fine.

we have been advised to get there " very early" to get seats....wrist bands are given on entrance to the game. We got tickets to GA stand...first in to get seats otherwise standing room. Remember it's their 150th birthday game,so will be busy !!!!

3-4 mintue Cab ride.

3-4 mintue Cab ride.

What?? Maybe from Geelong Station, but why you'd get off there is beyond me.

Ride it one extra stop to South Geelong Station for no extra cost and you're lucky if its a 2 minute walk.

I was going to go down with a few mates and fellow poster the_russian, but had a job come up on Saturday night so no go. Shattered, it'll be the first match i miss the Dees play in Victoria this year.

Hope they have a ripping game and push the [censored] right to the edge (but not over it...) ;)

Enjoy!

Have scored myself a seat deep in enemy territory @ The Presidents Lunch

& will be flying the Red & Blue scarf with pride.

Will report back any interesting information that comes out in the speeches.

(Shame Jimmy won't be there speaking but I'm sure Don McLardy will do him proud)

Billy Brownless to MC so guaranteed an entertaining time.

nice gig OMR, its the official 150th celebrations day for Geelong, so the ground will be packed!!

Im sitting in the corporate area for once this year, the father came through with tickets from work!! usually have to get there at 11 when gates open and stand around with the ferals all day, or can sometimes get cheer quad pass (our win down there a few years ago... best day at the footy ever!!)

I hate geelong more than ANY other team, i hope we give them a good old scare!

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
