Johnson - good but limited

He is only limited by a few things....

1. Can't kick

2. Can't handball

3. Can't take a clean grab

4. Can't hold onto the ball when it is given to him

5. Can't ruck

Other than that he is a great player!

It was a tough day for the big guys, but.......... !!!

Spencer is so much more encouraging to watch than PJ who is a few beers short of a six pack at the moment! PJ needs to dominate a few games for Casey to learn how to play football again..... He has had 4 shockers in a row and yet he doesn't get dropped?!?!?!

Yes! Worst player on the field by a mile. He's a laughing stock.

Robbo will be a definite inclusion for next week, possibly for Juice. I think Jetta and Bennell need a rest in the magoos too.

jetta and bartram you mean. benny has been great

hahaha at all of you. Last week we were all praising sylvia and newton, and also saying give them time, now BANG!! all is forgotten and you want players dropped and that they are worse then death.

We were always going to be shyt this year. please stop expecting us to be champions

Davey - Very good season

Martin - I love his work

McDonald - Relatively quiet day

McLean - Lacked polish

Meesen - Good effort

Miller - Poor

Moloney - Long kicking a treat

Morton - One of his worst games

Newton - Very poor

Petterd - Not a forward, looks much better down back

Sylvia - Still reveling in his second quarter last week

Warnock - Reliable again

Davey was our best. Great skills, worth being there just to watch his decision-making and ability at pin-point disposal.

Johnson's disposal was consistent and woeful. Jones is handball happy, giving and receiving. Usually to the wrong option. Frawley also can improve his disposal. McLean and Moloney were amongst our best.

Who is our best tackler? Most of our efforts today were brushed aside. We need to go straight at the player and pin him, not sideways kind-of half tackling and half trying to block his space.

And Newton... as Gough would say, "God save the queen, because nothing can save our Mr Newton"!

MFC = No forward line

Bartram - my condolences (how about you vultures bite your tongues for a week)

Bate - shocker x 3

Newton ditto

Bennell - enjoyed his game

Dunn - not that keen

Johnson - VFL Footballer

Jones - caught with sherrin

Morton - distance btw best and worst = nullabour

I question whether the following players can a) play in the wet and/or b. play football:

Morton

Bate

Newton

Johnson

My highlight of the day was Bennel's run down tackle, I don't think I've ever yelled out BAAAAAAAALL louder in my life...

Davey is the only person that should be allowed to kick the ball in our team, as AFL footballers our footskills are a complete farce.

Paul Johnson was terrible, for the 4th game in 5 weeks. Other than his nice lead-mark-play on, then bullet pass to the lead of Bate at the Punt rd end, he was shocking, with his decision making and in particular, ball-handling. Fumbles, losing balance, dropping chest marks, his game 'had it all'.

His ruckwork was adequate however- he spent less time in the ruck than Messen but was more competitive, ending up with more hitouts- but around the ground, which last year was his strength, and forward, he was useless again. Which really pains me to say because he's one of my favorites.

Not sure if he'll be dropped, but he is really starting to lose me.

Your normal three word analysis with your normal targets put down, it spoils what is usually a good assessment, perhaps once Bartram is not playing....he is a tagger....he did a great job AGAIN, your lovechild Wonna replaces Jetta, you must have looked away when he did that great tackle near the interchange and he ran all day, and Dunn........was our only forward.

Jones was horrible today,he went back to the end of last season, calling and taking the ball surrounded by opposition players and trying to crash through.

With Morton at least he works hard to get the footy, he is 19 runs hard he just needs to work on making the right choices. Watching Sylvia I don't think he was right yesterday, I saw him take a few tablets at quarter time and he seemed to spend a long time on the bench in the third quarter, in fact I don't think he came on until the 12 min mark and after a 10 touch second quarter that seemed strange.

We attack our forwards but our ball movement through the middle was very poor. Don't thing bombing it long to Robbo against 4 players will make much difference.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
