i was pretty happy with our game weve definetly got the competetive part covered.

A few ifs n buts and we have been in with a reall chance.

A few dodgy handballs and coughed up kiks but conditions were shocking, overall im reasonably happy.

Yep, good call. Patience, patience. We'll have a new forward line soon, with prob only Miller to survive out of todays forwards, as a forward.

Watts wona maric robbo jurrah miller- now thats a forward line! ..how would Bailey feel after bragging about all the extra goal-kicking the boys had been doing.. tch tch. ;)

Before anyone complains about our skills, understand that the bloke who is our Vice Captain has the worse skills in the AFL. Also happens to be our highest paid player.

And the kids are meant to look up to that?

Morton was very average tonight with disposal. Newton doesn't value his goalkicking at all. PJ couldn't get the ball to stick all night and neither could Jones. My best were Davey Frawley McLean and Moloney

totally agree with morton jones tried hard with no friends in close bartram given his loss in the family i wouldnt crcify him for that today give him credit for fronting

Yeah, actually he did.

He hit some targets with long penetrating kicks and layed some crunching tackles.

What did Bruce, the superstar vice captain do? Besides turn it over as usual.

The conditions were terrible, the skills poor. It was always going to be a battle of attrition. The fundamental skills errors undermined the team effort. On days like this, those misses at goal really hurt. At no time did Adelaide crack us open. At no time did they run away the game. The players fought it out. It was a pity that we had no made more of our opportunities in front of goal. If had one goal then a 16 point deficit becomes a 10 point deficit and then it is definitely game on.

What I really don't get about yesterdays game was Adelaide's willingness to slow the game down and constantly have two players back. In a way, I guess we can take it as somewhat of a compliment - I don't think Craig was confident they could beat us on the MCG allowing us to play our normal style of football. I might be getting ahead of myself, but I think we had more instances of skill and good decision making than Adelaide today. They were terrible. However, our inability to counter their extra men back hurt us. The way to counter a flood is to slowly but surely make your way in. We just kept bombing it in. You can't play like that anymore. Thankfully, they did the same thing, and what the game ended up being was a game between two sides that just didn't know how to break each others defensive tactics.

Yes, as we all know, the only place for women in football is washing jumpers and working in the canteen! How dare the ABC let this woman rise above her station and commentate! Because as we all know, there has never been an irritating male commentator, and women should stay out of this line of work because clearly we are inferior!

I think she's great, certainly has a bit of Gerard Whately in the way she describes the game.

Calls it well, I recognise her voice from a sporting show but I can't place it (ironically I can picture her face too)

About time footy provided a commentary position for a female, after all, about 50% of fans are female - and not just that, fair go. If she's earnt her spot then good on her

    Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval.     With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals.     The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm. Our last game of 2023 was an agonisingly close 5-point semi-final loss to Geelong, and we look forward to Melbourne turning the tables this week.
