I was watching a sports show on ABC this morning - The Offsiders - and a comment was made on club culture directly impacting on and reflecting through players and supporters alike. A concrete example given was the way a premiership win is celebrated by certain clubs/players/supporters vs others. For example it was proposed that Hawthorn players, officials and supporters celebrated in a sportsman like and professsional manner as oppossed to the boorish way West Coast celebrated their during the Judd/Cousins era. My question is; given the looooong drought between MFC premierships - how would you celebrate a premiership win?

If you had asked me 20 years ago I would have said party all night .....

... and when WE DO ACTUALLY WIN ONE (which could be a long way off yet) I might just roll the wheelchair out into the foyer and fart the 'Grand Old Flag' to make all the old 'biddies' blush.

Edit: A pact made a long long time ago with a fellow Melbourne supporter also means that I'd end up with a tattoo.... hopefully I'll be sober while choosing the design, size and location of said tattoo.

After I finish crying like a little girl in front of my son, I would hug everyone within arms reach and tell them how much I loved them and how important it was to me that they shared this day with me (note 'vomit here'). Following that I would head into the afterparty and hit the booze with as many Dees fans as possible (note ' vomit again'). Then straight to Crown where I would argue profusely with the croupier on the Roulette table to change the black numbers to blue and then whack $1000 on red (note 'vomit'). From there I would catch a cab home and stumble to the garden (vomit) then watch the replay 3 or 4 hundred times! I'd wing it from there, I think you get the picture.

I was always thinking of getting the old-school MFC intertwined logo on my ankle. Simple and not too over the top.

LOL. Just as long as it's not, 'Such as Life"......you might be interpreted as a Eagles or Tiger supporter.

How would I celebrate? Well, I wouldn't be at work for a week either. After attending all the celebrations possible with other fellow mfc supporters - wherever that might be (ie Bubbledome, the 'G', the Junction or Casey fields), I'd watch it again and again with copious amounts of fluid intake, the amber kind - followed by a bottle or two of red or a bourbon or two. Just to let it all sink-in that we won it! So I can re-live it.

Then, the following week might have to mirror the first. It's also fair to say I'd be too intoxicated to communicate on this forum during this period.

I remember a friend's Father having an official MFC can of Beer (can of Beer in MFC colours and logo), that must be now about 30 - 40 yrs old that he was saving for a Premiership. Anyone got similar items or plans they have been saving for a premiership?

2 Weeks off work-Sick leave!

After the game to wherever the celebrations are, drink & sing with as many demon supporters as i can hug, from there well who knows but i would enjoy myself like a child.

Maybe a Tatt with the words "sieze the Day"
