I don't understand why they didn't wait to announce both co-sponsors.

Surely that's what you would expect where you're going to run with a co-sponsorship situation?

think about it..we announce the first major sponsor now and they cop a heap of publicity and then the next sponsor gets equal publicity..secondary announcement means that the companies dont share the spotlight. Smart marketing ploy.

I agree... two bites of the pie :) Twice the publicity for the club. Plaudits to all concerned.

Hi Demon fans,

I'm with LD Wholesale Tyres, the Hankook distributors in Vic/Tas and new major sponsor for the MFC! Thought it might be a good idea to join the number 1 Demon forum in case any of you have any questions regarding Hankook or LD Wholesale - where to get them, which tyres to choose etc

We are very excited about the opportunity to be officially involved with the Demons and look forward to a long and prosperous association.

Hope to se some of you at family day on Sunday and at the G throughout the year!

Go Dees!

On behalf of not only Demonlanders, but all Melbourne supporters I'd love to welcome your company to the club. Your sponsorship has come at a unique time in the clubs history. We're a proud group of battlers and this is the die-hards coal face. Hankook has just adopted a group of very thankful group of loyal customers who are very grateful that you have decided to sponsor the greatest football club in the world.

Go Dees!

Lovely sentiment and all, but you might want to spell the company name correctly ;)

I think it is also great that Hankook has (reportedly) since 1992 advertised at the MCG. Hopefully this will strengthen the association of the Dees being the true tennants of the MCG. Even in non-MFC games when people see any Hancook signage at the MCG (assuming they continue) it will give a link to the Dees - some sort of reverse advertising if you like ...or am I just getting carried away now lol. I didn't realise that Hancook had involvement in "grass-roots" footy in the Casey area either so this is also an asset (and probably contributor to our situation with them sponsoring MFC).

To all those Posters on here who a few weeks back REALLY GOT STUCK IN TO STYNESY & THE BOARD....I expect a full apology. Your Behavior was completely childish & disrespectful.

The New Sponsorship deals along with the Re affiliation with the MCC just maybe the envy of many victorian clubs in the Future.

We have 3 Years in which to Pull ourselves up the ladder to increase our exposure. It all starts Today...

Could we possibly not ruin this perfectly good thread with personal tantrums?

I have deleted the relevant posts, so if you want to continue your personal chat I suggest you get a room.

Thanks you.

I think you missed some:

bloody fantastic! I just literally ran down the house waking everyone up to tell them....much to the delights of my parents lol. Maybe all those who bagged Jimmy and Co. can offer a bit of an apology?

........ And another sub-major sponsor on the way. The combined total will be greater than the revenue gained from the Primus deal. Also, I think you will find a another former player from the 90's was heavily involved in brokering the deal.

Can't wait to hear what the ardent critics of Jimmy and Schwabby have to say now.

But then none of these posters are willing to name names so I guess they aren't having personal tantrums. I didn't bother replying to them until I was named personally.

Let the record show that I was not the one looking to drag this thread off the rails and into a personal arguement - but neither will I back down from one if challenged.

Let the record show also that whilst I am as glad as the next supporter that Hankook have got behind the mighty D's, I stand by everything that I have said on the matter.

- Hazy the conspicuously present.

This is not about pointing the finger or blaming anyone, I just don't think anyone really needs to scroll through endless pointless posts when they open such an important topic (or any topic for that matter).

I didn't think you were blaming me and I agree with you completely about the pointless posts. I just wanted to set the record straight because you deleted the relevant posts.

Perhaps someone might like to start a thread specifially about why they disagree with my views/don't like my attitude. I'd do it myself but I don't want to seem self-important.

Perhaps we should continue this discussion via PM so that we don't make more pointless posts?

Did a rudimentary check of the other half's car last weekend after complaints of 'running a bit rough'.

Apart from 1.5 litres of oil and topping up the water and brake fluid and cleaning the plugs I checked the tyres. Could hardly get a match in.

Hankook here she comes. A St. Kilda supporters money now well spent!

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.

    REMATCH by Meggs

The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm. Our last game of 2023 was an agonisingly close 5-point semi-final loss to Geelong, and we look forward to Melbourne turning the tables this week. Practice match form was scratchy for both teams with the Demons losing practice matches to Carlton and Port Adelaide, while the Cats beat Collingwood but then lost to Essendo
