Gday again demonlanders it has been a while since my last post but that was due to the fact I moved to Melbourne.

Now on my agenda is a question.

Has the Melbourne Football Club found a sponsor yet as surely that would help us in our times of financial crisis. From memory ( I may be wrong) but didn't we lost Primus as a sponsor at the end of last year.

Richmond announced a new one today http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/sport/afl...9-19742,00.html

So it reminded me that I do not know if we have found one yet.

With the exciting times ahead with us gaining the number one national and pre season draft picks surely the people that are employed to get off their asses and find some sponsors can use that to our advantage.

Surely we cannot go into the season with no sponsor on our team polos or jumpers.

thats why the mfc should have drafted ............ (I'm not going to start that debate again!)

No sponsor, issues with AFL and MCC handouts = Trouble for 09. A major sponsor is needed by the end of Jan from where i sit or we are in trouble

Haha I didnt mean to start that debate I just meant with the talent we now have surely it would not be that difficult to get a major sponsor. I mean this is the oldest club in football and one with a rich tradition that is playing Australia's national sport of AFL.

I mean for god sakes Sandringham have more sponsors than we do.

A question I suppose needs to be asked. Do we devalue our brand and take what we can get for 1 yr? instead of say $1m for outright make it 600k or 2 x 350k like richmond? I'm sure even in this climate the contacts the MFC and MCC have surely this type of short term arrangement could be made.

Surely you could have posted in an existing sponsor thread rather than starting a brand new one which has no new information.

Search for previous threads and that is where your answer will be.

    UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

    Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft.     Demonland Trackwatchers ventured down to Gosch's Paddock for the final week of training for the 1st to 4th Years until they are joined by the rest of the senior squad for Preseason Training Camp in Mansfield next week.     A couple of Demonland Trackwatchers braved the rain and headed down to Gosch's paddock to bring you their observations from the second day of Preseason training for the 1st to 4th Year players.
