Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Kiwi - Don't get too depressed by the current MFC situation - We've seen good times, and they'll return.

Best time to be apart of the club though. If you feel the lows - the appreciate the highs so much more.

Damn, i feel crook reading the birth dates of most of you here.

My name is Craig. Born second of April 1968 in Numurkah Victoria, and am of Scottish/German/, and a little, Aboriginal stock.

Spent 4 years living in Maitland N.S.W, and now live in Blackwater Qld, working as a shotfirer in a coal mine.

In case you dont know, a shotfirer puts explosives in the ground, then turns big rocks into little rocks.

Having grown up in a conservative National party voting area, i can see both sides of the argument when it comes to politics, (I am a delegate for the CFMEU, and was part of the team that negotiated our last EBA, so i am not a fan of AWA's).

I read, but do not reply to, almost all posts on this site, and demonology, and i find that the posters i am drawn to are the ones i disagree with the most.

HELLO ALL!

Nice... I was born on the April 11 in 68. Spent quite a few years in the Riverina teaching. Love the country life, but I'm in Canberra now.

The rules of this forum say that one person can only have one sign-on, but they don’t stop multiple people from using one sign-on!

Herein lies the problem; I am 54 years of age, wore my first Demons footy strip to primary school sport in 1963 at springvale state school. RMIT Engineering degree, married, 3 kids, played footy in the country, coached footy in the country.

My identical twin is 28 yrs old, never worked, is illiterate, as you can see by some of his posts, and believes he knows all about people’s personalities simply by their forum post, and can sometimes be unfunny.

Hang on, got to go…..quick, Dees Dayz is coming up the driveway.

Hi to all. My name is Matt and I am 35 years old (shudder). I am a lawyer and live in the Virgin Islands, along with my wife and two kids. One of the great things about living outside Australia at the moment is that it has allowed me to completely brainwash the kids in following the Demons. No nasty young Collingwood supporters here to point out the realities of ladder position! I am now teaching them to reserve special hatred for particular opposition teams.

My favourite Demon memories would include the 87 preseason GF win (and wearing my tatty old Demon jumper to school the next day), Garry Lyon kicking a bag in a final against the Dogs and a couple of finals wins against Carlton.

Another lawyer! Not that there's anything wrong with being a lawyer, but we do seem to have a proliferation of them on here.

Sounds like you've got it made BVI... Good job, young family, tropical residence, no Collingwood supporters... sigh.

G'day.

I am TheGrimReaper. I am a Swans supporter, but loves my football and cricket. This year will be the first year, I will become an AFL member, so I am hoping to get down to around 28 to 30 games this year including 6 Melbourne games.

I live in South-West Victoria but originally came from South Melbourne, and I support Port Melbourne in the VFL.

Hey

TheGrimReaper & morton2watts got me here. I am a North fan but have a great interest in the demons. I manage to get to atleast 4 or 5 Demon games a year with my father who is a 30th Melbourne tragic. I love watching Austin Wonaeamirri and Aaron Davey play. They excite the crowd with there pace and thrill. I came here since Melbourne BF Board only bags the club and its not really active. Its great to be here. Hope to catch you around.

Cheers Joe

Cheers 45togod. Its good to be here. I mostly use The Animal Enclosure forum but I will check this site out frequently in the footy season and occasionally in the off season. Is Supermercdo on here? I just been introduced to his blog by Morton2Watts and its a great read and I got alot of laughs from it.

Hi all, I too am a Dees tragic. On the wrong side of 30 now and looking at a career change (dangerous). I live interstate but am looking at moving to Melbourne some time this year. I have been following the red and blue since '87 and have had country membership for the last 8 years which will soon become a proper membership. Looking forward to a productive 2009 season and beyond.

Hi everyone

I've just joined the forum, so I hope you'll be gentle! I've been a Dees supporter all my life, and have been a member of the club since I was 8 years old, so 30 years now. I've been a Redlegs member for a few years now, but it's not the same as the Redlegs were back in the late 80s/early 90s, when it was in the old Northern stand.

As a teacher I constantly have to put up with students laughing at me when I say I'm a Melbourne supporter, usually Collingwood kids! Doesn't worry me though :)

Don't worry, the tide will turn soon. Nice to have you on board.

PS. Collingwood is constantly referred to the "Filth" on this site. A little crude. But fitting.

Just in case you weren't sure when you come across it from time to time. ;)

Hey guys I just signed up then, this is my first post.

I'm 23 nearly 24, live in Melbourne and am a final year Science student majoring in exercise physiology. I've been a Melbourne supporter since birth along with my dad and brother. I go to as many games as I am able to and this will increase a lot when uni is over. I used to play amateur footy up until i was 20 but I was always better at tennis. I love football in general and try to watch as many games as I can. Best Melbourne memories include meeting Jim Stynes and Gary Lyon at about 10 outside the MCG, qualifying for the 2000 grand final (i forget the result of that GF...), and this year seeing how the supporters of the club have showed their hearts beat true by reaching record membership in a wooden spoon year. I also enjoy seeing Gary on the stretcher!

Hi, I thought this would be good for everyone on the forum to tell us a bit about themselves, whether your a new poster, or an 'old' one.

As for me.

I'm 18, doing VCE exams at the moment. Begun volunteering at the MFC late last year with the Demonology/Demonland volunteer group, and from there I begun doing some full days at the club, including the chance to go on the Footy Show Membership Drive on the clubs table.

My most memorable MFC moment was round 2, 2004, when I went into the rooms, met some players, and ex-players as it was the 'Unficiation March'. Ron Barrassi told me to 'get some porridge' into me. I then donned the playing gear, ran through the banner, and tossed the coin.

Amazing experience.

Ok, over to you.

Just for the history books, I have been a Dee's fan since as long as I can remember, as was my mother and her mother too which has now passed on to my boys. My greatest moment was when I was 12 yrs old and Neil Crompton kicked a goal to win us the 1964 Grand final. I have been forunate to see some great players over the years and even got to play basketball which Crackers during the off season even though we could not convince him it was a not contact game. I am exited about the future prospects of the club and believe that they are on the right road to have us back on top again. With the upcoming talent of our young players and the prospects of the 1 & 2 draft picks who ever they choose, I cant wait to experince that feeling again when the siren goes and we have won another flag.

Darwin Deez supporter here. Am 32 and have followed the Deez from a young age. Had no family influences to persuade me to barrack for the Deez but enjoyed watching Sean White the Irishman play back in the day. And a little later, Steven Tingay. But I'm happy to say that my son HAS had family influence and is also a devoted Melbourne fan. Well, it was either that or he'd have to move out!

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
