Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I'm 19, having finished my VCE exams last year (don't listen to what they tell you, my high ENTER score means nothing these days).

I decided to take a year off, and now I work in child-care and nanny on the side. I'm going to study nursing next year, well if I get in that is.

Apart from my work and footy, my other real passions in life are shopping, reading and music. But I will happily give up all my shoes, books and my iPod if it means seeing a Melbourne premiership.

:)

Hey Jaded, did you ever go back to school?

Cassie here. Lifelong Demon supporter. Inherited it from Dad who was a fan in the 1950’s. Yup he got the premierships and I got the crumbs. Don’t worry, my older and younger brother are stuck too.

Not one of those defeatist supporters and refuses to let the self-deprecative humour dominate. We must not let ourselves accept ridicule and do it ourselves. Never accept merging or relocation. There is more about following a football team than just premierships. Also, I don’t believe in this so called “Norm Smith curse.” Never heard anything about it until some idiot on Wikipedia put it on there as a poor excuse for poor performances and the public just accepted it as fact.

Try to go to games when I can. Have Foxtel purely so I don’t miss a game. Recently became a member again in 2016 because I can see that our team is really trying now.

Been aware of this site for a while, but had to post to share my opinions on things. I hope to do a lot more of this in the future.

Look forward to meeting all of you. Any demon supporter is a friend of mine!

Forgot to add my favourite Demon moment.

1998 Qualifying final against Adelaide. Me, Dad and my brothers went. After 1996 (not knowing if we’d still exist) and the heartbreak of 1997’s wooden spoon, I started wondering if we’d ever see finals in my lifetime. Even though everyone was saying we had no hope at beating them, we all went not caring what the odds were, just grateful to see them play in a final.

What a day! We absolutely killed them! Such a great game. And we were all, there together to share it. Still the best game I’ve ver been to. I’m really hoping that if we can make it, we can all go together again.

Hi
First post here after lurking for so long getting all my Demon info here. Lucky enough to have been to about 12 Finals from 1988 to 1994. Lived in Melbourne then but now in Perth. Favorite Demons were Alan Johnson, Brett Bailey and Rod Grinter,

Welcome to Demonland (officially)

Long time observer, first time poster.

I'm not sure our prospects and position as a club are quite as dire as some on here may think, but I do feel that this year is somewhat of a cross roads for us both on and off the field and has the potential to shape the next 5+ years. So...looking forward to posting about it!

Yeah welcome aboard. Hoping to see plenty of you reporting on future victories and highlights for the next ten years, and then hope you don't have to experience another period like our last fifty ( my supporting lifetime).

I just wanted to illustrate exactly how much I love the Dees: I’m not a gambler but every single week I bet AGAINST the Dees. That way, if we win I’m happy. And should we lose, I’m sad, but I’m sad and have a little more $ than I had pre-match. I started doing this in 2017 and sadly won more money than I wanted. I’m happy to say that this year I haven’t won a cent! I usually place a $10 or $20 bet, except when we play Essendon, where I’ll happily lose $50 to see the Dees beat them. Incidentally, I HATE Essendon with every fibre of my being. And I mean Hate with a capital H. Next-level Hate. Boss-level Hate. Probably borderline obsessive hate. Hate with an unrivalled and unbridled passion. And not just since the 2000 grannie either. I’ve always hated that team. And always will. Anyways, that’s how much I love MFC. ❤️?

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
