I've not seen much of him, but he's looked alright.

As in, ok, nothing too spectacular, but not a shocker, especially for an irishman.

Surely Jimma's presence would mean that we'd be a chance to get him, although i'd hope he doesn't think it appropriate to interfere with the decisions of the coaching panel.

Any thoughts??? (its been slow in this section, otherwise i'd probably not bother)

Pre-season draft - a vague 'not likely'

Rookie draft - with half a dozen to pick; pretty good option I would say.

Young enough to fit with the grand plan, old enough to be available immediately if needed.

No harm in giving him a year.

All depends on whether or not he's interested. I saw an interview with him when he'd debuted, and he seemed like he was here only for shits and giggles. May have been given the ass for that reason.

If he's serious about Aussie rules, then fair enough...

He's got good pace and his disposal is decent for someone who has only taken to the game a couple of years back, maybe lacks a bit of physicality.

A chance for a spot on the rookie list.

Would probably be worth a spot on the rookie list , although , from his interview , he doesn't seem to care whether he stays in Australia or not .

I think there are better options in other delisted players .

Hislop , Davenport and Chris Schmidt are all young , and have shown they can play and would all walk straight into our side and play well .

Tom Hislop will probably go in the ND . Davenport and Schmidt could be late ND picks or get through to the PSD .

I would be quite happy to sign one of them now as first PSD pick , and hope we are looking at that . As I said , all 3 would be good players in our team from round 1 .

If we were to go for a reject he would be the one I'd go for he has pace and pretty good skills can only get better was Brisbane's Rookie Of The Year in '07 so sacking him after 1 injury interupted year doesn't sound right, he might be another nutter like Hislop if he is I wouldn't go for him.

... he might be another nutter like Hislop...

Of course he's a nutter - he's irish!!

(apologies to any irish offended - Irish ex-girlfriend you see...)

Let him train with us so MFC can assess him before giving away a PSD or rookie list spot.

Unless the Club know his form and decide to steer clear.

Probably a tad too logical there RR

Hasn't been mentioned much in these parts lately but the Irish lad had some injury problems and is now training with Collingwood.

He hasn't nominated for the national draft which suggests he will nominate for the PSD where we have first choice.

If he's good it might just be the time for us to stop being the patsy and draft someone wanted by another club?

This kid could be the chosen one...training with the filth though.....

I dare say Stynes would know a bit about him..

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
