Yeah i reckon he could be a good pick up, although i haven't seen much of him

Doubt Gill would.

Jericho is a bit of an enigma. Looks a million bucks some days then looks as though he'd struggle to get a game at Powelltown other weeks.

Had his share of injuries over the journey and never got settled but is a decent size (190cm) and moves well so will be looked at

Who else is really available in the PSD?

Right now he'd be our best bet.

In a team which is crying out for forwards, he got delisted and was in and out of the team...

NO THANKS.

I would focus all my attention on Lonergan. At least he was a regular in Geelong, kicked 36 goals in 16 games. Not a superstar, but a good fill while we wait for Watts to fire

We need to get serious if we are to rebuild. We are better off taking a punt on a kid who has not had a chance at the top level out of this upcoming draft, than to recycle guys we know cannot ever be anything special at the top level.

Jericho has his chance, and he was not up to it. He is not better than some of the fringe players we have, so why bother when we have our own fringe players to manage.

Jericho Vs Random Late Round Smokey Kid. Winner, the Smokey draftee!

That's about the size of it. We would be picking a kid, basically the selection after the normal draft...

But other than that, I can't think of too many players that excite me less...

Yes if it was Jericho vs Stefan Martin type player then its the Stefan Martin type player.

Otherwise it would be a pass.

No need to fill the list stocking with more of what we dont need.

Just a question for anyone in the know, are you able to put a player picked up in the National Draft onto the Rookie List?

I don't think you can, but just wanted to make sure

Posted

No. they would have to be delisted and redrafted in the rookie draft that takes place right after the PSD.

Posted

Either a 23-yr-old known entity (that just got boned), for a kid that could get better and better.

We keep down this path we'll have 44 players on our list that are ALL NQRs...

Posted

Being a bit harsh on Jericho. He is only 23 is in our youth policy and can kick goals. We NEED someone up forward who can kick more than 2 a game.

Posted

While there have been a few instances of players of his age rejuvinating their careers at another club the chances of it happening especially at a club with poor form is basically nil

Adelaide are not fools when delisting players

Posted

Well a clun where he is given responsibility might be good for him players might actually kick to him as he will be a target

Posted

So the consensus is he'll either be an even WORSE player at MFC than he was at the Crows... OR he'll kick 50 for us... Even if it's the latter he'll probably only be list clogger when the business years roll around.

Posted

He is a good player and we need to start winning some games. Even if it is 5 so we can get some sponsors on board and some money to this club. To do that however we need players who can kick goals. Let's be honest here guys he will kick more than Miller who was our leading goalkicker last year with 26.

That is pathetic and considering Watts is unlikely to play much next year, we need someone who can kick goals for us and be a threat.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
