I just mentioned the same thing in one of the Trade Rumour threads TGP......

And I found it more than a little amusing!!!

Well, thank f*#$ for that! Now maybe all the clowns who are saying trade Davey and ???? for pick ?? will get over it and realise we actually live in a sane world.

Fantastic news! If we are to trade any of our small forwards it should be Wonna, no way should they be trading Davey or Maric.

Good.

Anyone who thinks Davey should be traded has rocks in their head. If he has a consistent and injury free year, he'll be a top 50 player in the AFL next year...something we don't have.

If there was actually a decent trade for him you would have to have bigger rocks not to trade him. Why isnt he consistent? I am not sure why you find him an untouchable. He has some good skills but has known limitations. He has yet to get anywhere near a Top 50 player in the AFL and certainly wont get there with his inability to play in the midfield.

Wonna will pull us a great deal wont he?

He'll pull us a better deal now why he has some value then he will in 2 years time when he's playing Casey reserves.

A 4th or 5th round pick versus none at all. He has nothing special that Clubs would trade for as opposed to getting a similar player with a 50+ draft pick or a rookie.

I wish YM would [censored] off.

What exactly does he bring to this forum other than stupid lies and negativity.

I think you are judging Wona a little harsh. He was a first year rookie, who was overweight and not used to the level of fitness required. Yet he still played the bulk of the year in the seniors and kicked goals in an injury plagued team and a crap forward line. How would he have gone in the pocket for the Dogs, Hawks, Saints or Cats, much better I think.

He will now have the benefit of a full pre season to get fitter, lose some puppy fat and go into a second season with experience as a senior player. He is worth more than a 50+ pick but who cares as he won't be swapped. I love watching him and look forward to seeing him in the red and blue again this year.

The other option is to simply ignore his posts, thus denying him the opportunity to 'get his rocks off'.

I think he did very well and he has a challenge ahead next year because he wont fly under the radar of oppositions.

However, at this point and with the question marks about what he might achieve in 2009, I dont think there is any significant trade value with other Clubs.

He may have done better with a top team than MFC this year but conversely unless they were in MFC's situation he may not have been given the opportunity this year.

Wona was coming from a long way back. His season was outstanding. A top 10 finish for a bloke who was effectively drafted with pick 100, and with very little ball coming into the forward 50.

He is a footballer first, athlete second. Has a very clever head on his shoulders, how he can cop anything but praise on this forum is beyond me.

He almost won the goal kicking award, albeit with about 25 but please leave the wona alone. One of the few gems of this year.

yeah i dont think anyone actually paid any attention or gave any credit to Yze Magic when he suggested that trade haha we all know what hes like!

Seriously, what's with bagging Wonaeamirri?

Rookie listed, first year player, kicks a bunch of goals, has a couple of really good games, fades out a bit towards the end of the year.

Sounds fine to me. You gotta find a bit worse than that before you can legitimately toss out a teenager.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
