Doubt he'll screw the club over AND there'll be enough interest in him that the Swans can force a trade out of someone

Lol I agree but still we can only hope. Let's show him a powerpoint presentation.

As I said a week ago, is in talks with doggies..

Another rumour I made up?

Personally, I'd love him in red and Blue, cant see it happening though..

Sydney making room for Daniel Kerr. West Coast making room for two extra first round picks. I suspect that O'Keefe would be headed to the Dogs, but if he goes to the Blues he'll no doubt be given the very demanding job of a Visy spokesman on youth homelessness on the streets of South Yarra or some such crap. Robbie Warnock's already got the position of looking after lost Bunny rabbits and kittens.

lets say warnock is traded to the blues, and we nab primall but ROK slips through to the PSD... would we take him if there was noone else there? would he bring more value over the next 3-5 years than what a young draftee at this stage may offer over his career?

of course you would take a player like ryan o'keefe if he slipped through to the PSD.but it aint gonna happen- source for him wanting out of sydney. doubt he'd leave.

dw just read about it on realfooty

interesting

i reckon we get him, its not stupid. who cares if he's not in our window of oppoortunity. he's a gun, key forward, can play on ball. well worth getting. could easily offload sydney a dunn/bartram plus pick 19 and they'd take it with the threat of PSD...then again, our salary issues. in a perfect world :)

They dont do much for us anyway. We need to throw millions at him as well.

I think he would be great at Dogs or Saints.

Dogs DESPERATLY ned a forward and Saints could then throw Cossie in the ruck.

we won't get him in a trade, he won't want to come to us... why would he want to come to a club, which isn't going to threaten for a flag during his career?

the only way he'd possibly be in red and blue, is if a deal is not brokered and he ends up in the PSD...

He's one of my favourite players & I don't want him @ melbourne. He'll go to a club with an immediate open window for the next 3 years, teams like the Dogs, Saints, Pies, Cats, or poss' Blues.

We need to pick up Kids thru the draft.

Agreed! I would love nothing more than to see a powerful unit like ROK dominating our forward fifty but the simple fact of the matter is we dont meet his

requirements ( e.g. open premiership window ) and nor does he meet ours ( he will be over 30 when we are beginning to look serious ). Therefore any

entertaining of the thought of getting him is pointless, whether it be through trading or in the pre-season draft. Hopefully with some favourable draft picks and

smart rookie acquisitions, we can build our own crop of stars over the next few years. Fingers crossed.

Even if we wanted him at Melbourne, he wouldn't want us. He doesn't have 6 years to wait for a flag. He'd want a club that is likely to challenge in 2-3 years.

why do you add an extra line between each of your lines of text?

Deanox; not afraid to deal with the tough issues.

I hear the UN is having an emergency meeting to discuss the deeply disturbing phenomenon of placing extra line spaces :P

Too old O'Keefe, for the Melbfc path of youth apparently. Terrific footballer and leader on and off the field. Would come at a cost. Interesting, I wonder if he would fall through to the PSD... <_<

Carlton's the only club with room in its salary cap tp fit O'Keefe.

The ever endless pit of money........ ;)

Also to discuss the non-use of capital letters.

I think our problem lately has been that we have too many midfielders on our list but they keep getting injured. But a ruckman and a key forward are a must. One option could be getting Nicknat at pick one or even Vickery and getting Nathan Grima from the Kangaroos in a trade or psd as he was on a rookie list for one year and did his knee five weeks into pre season.

I know Nathan aswell and he is a solidly built forward or Back who last year was pivotal in Central Districts grand final win in the SANFL, we can get him for nothing in the PSD and he is only 24.

yeah I know the three of em

played footy with them

alex is at the hawks and todd is better than narny (nathan) and is playin in the sanfl gf for glenelg as theit leading goal kicker and won geelong vfl goalkicking last year.

Both of them to the dees with late picks/psd

Trust me lol I know these 2 they are good. Nathan is an absolute tank.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
