He has a career high of 7 goals in a game (vs Carlton 2004). He kicked 6 against North Melbourne in 2004 or 2005. He has also kicked 5 on a few occasions. If we retain Bruce next season, perhaps a return to the forward line would be a good idea although he would have to improve his shonky kicking for goal.

You can say that again....It would be interesting to find out his set shots record :wacko: , he seems better on the move at goal.... ;)

I was at that game in 2004, he didn't play predominantly forward that day, more on the ball and slipping into the forward line. But Carlton were woeful that day. From memory we won by over 100pts.

Oh what a day it was!!! For a while in the last quarter Carlton resisted the 100 point barrier, but when we got there the roar was pretty big from memory.

We followed it up the week later and beat the Weagles by 50 points. Good memories.

Interestingly he has kicked a career 192 goals, around half the number of Robbo's 399, in 38 fewer games, and has never really played forward.

He could be placed forward if a particular game necessitated.

He's no Brad Johnson though.

His skills are deplorable. He will be 29 next year, and he is on a rapid decline.

Must be sent packing durung trade week if this club is to move forward.

the way the ball comes off his foot is like he is wearing ugg boots not footy boots. keep him in the midfield where he can deliver his trademark hospital handballs to a stationary target or helicopter floaters into the forward line

ohh oo!! Wait for the abuse..

Some people cant handle the truth, Rusty.

Either that, or they dont want the club to improve and move forward.

You're a hard man Y_M.

I agree his foot and hand skills have become more "conscious" (as opposed to subconscious effective) over the last 20 games or so. We could debate his inside efficiency also.

Even at 28yo could DB's new game plan (whatever i.e) be affecting his ability to steady?

Can he get time off for good behaviour from seasons 2001-2006? Or do we just sell him?

I think its not a bad idea..

Bruce could play FF well IMO..

A similiar role to Brad Johnson..

I cant see it happening though, he'll play a variety of roles, as usual!

He has kicked 192 g's to 138 odd points, not a great return on investment but he does kick some vital goals when needed including one vital one against the Lions deep into the last from the pocket.

I think he is too versitial to be wasted down forward only.
