  1. We have some very robust discussion on Australian politics in this general forum. Some have shown their distaste for Tony Abbott's brand of conservative politics and have made light of his gaffs. However, I would be interested if anyone on this board has been watching the performances during the GOP debates and the pressers that are now ramping up due to the primaries currently being contested. What is happening in the USA on the Republican side of politics is making our politics look positively staid. Watching Donald Trump is like going past a car crash - I don't want to look as it is too hideous but I just can't seem to look away. The bizarre statements he makes and the blatant contradictions, flip flopping and outright lies is breath taking. He is making the likes of Cruz and Rubio seem grounded ( and some of their policy ideas are no less dangerous). The scary part for me is not what Donald Trump is saying but people are actually liking what they are hearing.
