  1. I would have very much liked to have seen us recruit a forward, or two. The fact we didn’t makes me assess our trade performance as poor. However, I appreciate that we can’t bring in forwards if none is available. So, now I'm wanting to see us use the early picks to go for blokes who can kick goals. This appears to be the only way to overcome the 2019 problem of lots of fruitless inside 50s.
  2. So many inside 50s, so few goals. Staggering that we wouldn’t have been going all out to trade in some forwards. Without them, sadly I reckon we will be even worse next year.
  3. It would be good if we’d contemplate trying to recruit one or two blokes who could occasionally use their boots to propel the ball between the 2 large white poles, ideally at the Melbourne attacking end.
  4. Providing he arrives at the club with a 4-6 week injury.
  5. They’re managing an invisible team led by invisible co-captains.
  6. I wonder what compensation Melbourne would get, if any, if he were to go? I’m liking Geelong less and less these days.
  7. Can’t work out which is worse - watching Melbourne or having to put up with LIng’s mindless drivel.
  8. They should fly up on Sunday morning. It would save on accommodation and make no difference to the result. Plus, they’d have an excellent excuse.
  9. Not such a bad performance given our injuries. At least that’s what I thought as I left the ground. Then I checked our injury list. Only players of note who were missing were McDonald and Melksham. There’s a possible case to be made that we’d have won with them in, but it still doesn’t excuse the long periods of sloppy play, lack of teamwork and fumbling. Hopefully, we’ve found a forward in Petty.
  10. I’d like to have a few weeks with them both playing. Can’t be any worse than what we’ve seen from the team this year.
  11. I’m quite proud of my display pic. It’s what should have been in 2000. I got it from a friend who got it from someone at the Herald Sun.
  12. Why are we wearing Essendon uniform?
  13. Funny line from tv commentary in Q4 re Brayshaw: ‘The helmet’s off but he keeps his head.’
  14. Finally. And we’ve beaten a top 2 team. And it’s another year better than the previous one. Thanks Roos, thanks Goodwin.
  15. I challenge anyone here to not be in favour of a send off rule given what occurred to us in the 2000 GF. Essendon capitalised on having their players allowed to continue on field after committing severe, reportable acts. As a reminder, from The Age: ‘Michael Long's shuddering knockout of Troy Simmonds - which earned him a four-match ban - and Dean Wallis served out his three-match penalty for striking Brad Green, a blow that resulted in the young Demon being taken to hospital’.
  16. Early advocate of playing the corridor
  17. 1 Some good signs from Tyson and Smith 2 Fine games from Petracca, Oliver and Brayshaw 3 Sadly for him, the realisation that JKH is not up to it and will not again be selected.
  18. Here’s a completely pointless observation. Have a look at the photos of the players in the MFC email noting changes for the weekend. The 2 ‘ins’ are smiling; the ‘outs’ look suitably bereft.
  19. 1 Selling the home game 2 recruiting Jack Watts 3 letting Jack Watts go 4 recruiting Toumpas 5 appointing Neeld 6 the heat 7 too many changes 8 Pederson not getting a gig 9 crap commentary - surely Ling won’t be there? 10 how good we’d be had we recruited [insert name]
  20. Solid game from Trengove. Great to see him back.
