  2. Who says Harry or JVR can’t play CHF as well as FF. Your post is confusing and overlooks the fact that I’m ONE year we won a flag. Our response has been disappointing but this year we hope to have all forward players fit and available for a serious tilt.
  3. https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/brisbane-lions-crisis-meeting-after-furious-partners-see-wild-antics-on-whatsapp-group/news-story/bb0a6f639a03a00cab74d97ce5c93cdd looks like @goodwindees was on the money once again on the going’s on at Brisbane he mentioned this couple weeks back from memory

  5. No you say we will Roost it. HP may not be of that opinion if things keep going and the Crows continue in free fall till the season’s end. They look as far away from a flag and Nicks is beside himself with no obvious method to get his squad out of its malaise. And they are not only one players short but about 5 when Tex Sloane Crouch are over the hill.
  6. Petty gone, BBB and McDonald retired ... going to be "interesting" next year up forward.
  7. Can’t wait for this one. The boys will be ready
  8. & he’s their best user of the pill
  9. It's Game Day and the Demons begin their 2 week adventure in South Australia tonight when they face the Power from Port at the Adelaide Oval. Both teams will be keen to stamp their early credentials for September in this Top 4 clash on the big stage.
  10. The Dandenong Stingrays’ 198 bottom aged Melbourne NGA prospect, Tarion Ah-Mu had another good day kicking three goals in a 14 disposal, 5 marks game. He also had 9 hit outs in the team’s loss to the Gippsland Power. Their other Demon NGA member Corey Giliam kicked two goals in an otherwise quiet performance. For the winners, Ricky Mentha had a quiet day, failing to bother the scorers and picking up 11 touches.
  11. The club has been fantastic every year. Lots of clinics and trips to remote communities. I’m sure they also do a bunch of other things that I don’t know about. When my kids were little and we lived out bush a few of the players attended a school of the air lesson which was quite a thrill. The way the kids swamped Kozi post match in 2022 was pretty inspiring. So many great things happen in Alice by the way, the media just don’t report about it.
  12. It was originally a typo by an overly-excited Adelaide fan on a forum maaaaany years ago. The mocking snowballed and was helped along by Conan the Barbarian's deity being Crom. At seven goals a game, not sure too many Crom fans will be getting too excited just at the moment. Will be interesting to see how the showdown goes between Port's leaky defence and Crom's inability to score.
  13. Doesn't help when your main ball carrier (Dawson) is going at 48 percent disposal efficiency! No one can carry the ball for the Crows.
  14. They think investing millions in Petty will help them. Might wanna get a midfield first.
  15. It’s a discussion that we, in this country, will keep having for a long time. I didn’t really bring it up to start any arguments about the cause or who is to blame for the parlous situation in Alice Springs but rather, to find out whether the club can help out or whether the future of our program is in jeopardy.
  16. Invested heavily in the front half. It’s won out the middle - weak af in that department.
  17. The riot accured after an 18yo was crushed in a rollover car accident and killed (he was allegedly hanging out the window as it was doing burn outs through town). My understanding (from someone living there) is he was from a local school and there has allegedly been a second student from that same school who has recently passed also. As to those causing the riots, yes they may well be out-of-towners. According to my contact it's not that safe. She's walked in on intruders, had a peeping tom blatantly setting up bricks / other materials outside her bathroom window. After he was told to F-off and "i'm calling the cops" he proceeded to return three times asking her "can i see again??" before finally fleeing with the cops taking an hour to arrive.... all too late. Her mother who was staying with her at the time to mind her dog while she worked, felt so threatened she left to go and stay with her other daughter (also living there) where she felt safer (extra male flat mates and no intruders etc....in the short time she's been in this premise). The mother couldn't wait to get back to Melb and has advised both daughters to get the hell out asap (rightly or wrongly). https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/australia-news/2024/mar/27/alice-springs-brawl-teenager-death-todd-tavern
  18. Looks like we death rided Freo at the right time last year
  19. So Adelaide are 0-3 and have us (home) and Carlton (away) as their next two. 0-5 is not exactly far-fetched. They just re-signed Nicks, too. We'll see if Fremantle are truly the real deal in the next fortnight, with Carlton and then Port (away).
  20. For those that watch more footy than me, what’s happened with the Crows? Dont think I could name one of their defenders.
  21. Thanks @Beetle, I missed you're original post re a source, but I wasn't trying to suggest you were wrong either. We've got a track record of dealing fairly with players and trying to seek win wins, rather than looking after ourselves only. I actually think it's part of the culture we try to set off field, that makes us attractive for recruits. So I agree that if he really wants to go we'll find a way, provided of course Adelaide come to the party too.
  22. Crows will be bottom 4-6. Walker looks about done so Crows will be desperate for another KPP. I’d be asking for their 1st and 2nd round pick if he doesn’t want to stay of course.
  23. If you are on FB, join "Glen Eira Residents Action Group" ... fair bit of anti-Demons agitation going on there. Seems to me the whole of Caulfield RC Reserve has to be set aside for the use of 9 dog walkers. Perhaps some local politicians need to be made aware of how many Demons members and supporters reside in The City of Glen Eira ...
  24. Thought I saw Tommo in Adelaide.
