Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

there has been soo much debate on wheather we should trade miller, drop him, delist him and so on.. but one thing people has forgotten is about how this young man rose to the football ranks in 2003,2004 and 2005. this guy was a superstar in the makin, a future captain and also our CHF afterlife of the OX. he was a fast leading center half forward who had that jonathon brown anger in him! people tagged him a thug becoz of his reputaion rough style play. he was our very own thug! but then one move by neale daniher to barry hall looks as if it has changed his football life. Now in my opinion Miller should have stayed at CHF where he made a name for himself. I reckon that move by ND ruined his career and now he cops abuse from supporters left right and center! its actually gettin beyond the joke!! Miller has now lost all those reputaion he once had as an up and coming rising. i dont know if anyone remember an article about him and jared rivers being our future of this side, it was in 2004. how times can change. its also sad to see him not being that rough and tumble player he use to. i though he was playing well at CHF this year when he kicked some bags of 3 goals and a couple others. his position is not the backline! does anyone remember queens birthday a couple of years ago when he took about 12 marks in the first half? or against richmond back in 2004 when he killed em and kicked 4 goals? or even last year against freo in the finals. he stood up when becoz he bleeds for this club. i know im gonna cop it here but brad has been harshly delt with and i believe a New coach could turn his career alive. for gods sake rest bloody miller or nietz for the rest of the year and give this guy a go there.

whats everyones thoughts?

I agree,

Miller was developing beautifully at CHF,

and made the team so much better when he was there,

bringing the play into the corridor.

And now they persist in trying him out as a back.

I hope he survives,

we get a proper coach in, (Riley and the current selection panel are a sick joke)

and he recovers his role.

Couldn't agree more, I still think he is the CHF we are looking for, he just needs to get his confidence back

Would love to see him given a go at CHF in the coming weeks

Miller lost his attack/aggression, he was a lead up chf that wasn't afraid to through his weight around, but since he got reported a couple of times his attack at the contest has died. He ran in straight lines and made players get out of his way, demanded the footy and until he finds that toughness again he is going to struggle. He is a shadow of what he was whether it is a ND thing or a Miller mind set thing he has to sought it out or his AFL carear will be over if not this year next.

pffft knowing our luck coxy it will never happern

HA, of course it won't, but we can dream!

Also if i remember correctly reily said he was going to persist with miller in the backline for the rest of the season?

I mean since we are trying different things, why not give carroll a run at FF?

Miller has shown time and time again he is not a CHF's boot lace.

Its must be unbelievable hard for people to have their illusions shattered week after week, year after year by this continual failure.

The only valid comparison with the Ox is they both wore single digit odd numbers on the back of their guernsey.

Next conspiracy theory thanks.

Sure, he was good leading forward, and at times our only forward player willing to go down and get the ball. But CHF is the most important ground on the field along with CHB. You base your team around these positions.

Miller can barely kick the ball 45 meters and only kicks about 10 goals a season. For a CHF that's not good enough.

And don't say he hasn't been given the opportunity, he has been given the CHF role many times, he has done alright, but has rarely dominated a game.

I know that we aren't gonna get another Oxe, but we need someone who can kick 40+ goals a season and can easily kick a goal from outside the 50.

The fact is Miller just isn't the typical CHF like Jonathon Brown or Pavlich. And with the likes of Bate and Dunn coming through as utility CHF's, they cover Miller's best attribute when he is CHF (his presentation and running).

Now i wouldn't just give Miller away for nothing, he is a young KPP that has decent size. There will be clubs out there interested in him. If we do get a decent trade for him, and he happens to play good footy for that club, good on him. He would be playing good footy and we would have received something decent in return. Win, Win situation.

Agree with Rhino.

You say ND ruined Miller's career with one swift move to the backline but you can't deny Miller has been given chances at CHF since and has not performed. Especially this year Miller was given every chance to fill the CHF spot and I'd hate to say it, failed miserably.

I like Miller and hope he can improve next year and win that CHF spot. However with Bate, Dunn and Newton challenging I wouldn't hold my breath.

Miller has had it, the problem we have now is that we can not get anything for him because he is shot of confidence because he can't deliver what people have expected from him. He was never a CHF, CHF's kick goals and take pack marks Miller just got cheap kicks on the wing. It is unrealistic to think that Bate and Dunn can play CHF they are both more suited to a HF role. Newton might be a chance because he can take a good grab but he desperately needs a big year in the gym. If there is a quality key forward by the time we have a pick in the draft then we must go for him. I have to change my mind again and say that a key forward will be more important to us than a quality midfielder, key backman or ruckman. That is the big question I have So many holes in the side who should we go for with our first pick ?

He must go. Absolutely Daniher's fault. If we want to win the flag in the next 5 years we must cut all surplus players. At least 15 players should be delisted by season's end; we must blood youth and if they don't show anything in their first season they have to go.

Nearly forgot, obviously our board is not doing their job and they should be sacked as well.

Agree the key forward.

If we continue to get smashed through the midfield next year, it wont matter if you had Peter Hudson at FF. We need a ball winning line breaking midfielder desparately. Week after week we are getting punished there and we need to resolve this as a No 1 issue.

Well thats what we have to do at this years drafts either trade for one that is only 20 or get one as a 17 year old because the mfc will never go anywhere with just a ff or chf you need both.

There is a kid named Henderson, his first name i'm pretty sure is Lachlan, and he is a KP forward. He represented Vic Country this year. He will go in the top 10. I reckon he could be our answer to our key CHF. We need to trade the likes of Bruce, TJ or Green in order to get a draft pick in the top 10.

I reckon he has got what it takes to hold down CHF.

That was my original choice but I am pinnig my hopes on us having a good pre season and McLean, Jones, Sylvia and Moloney getting fit enough to at least compete with the better midfields. We don't have much up forward at all Neitz goes down and we are in dire straits and Robertson should be our 3rd marking forward not our 2nd.

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
