Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Fair result considering we only had three players on the ground (Bell, Moloney and Green), and one of those was missing in the last quarter with an injury.

I'm too dejected to say anything else. That kind of performance seriously just makes me not give a rats about footy.

I'm sick of it, year after year

Just mentioned on Channel 7 that Moloney could be out for a fair time with a groin injury...

Damn it injuries have cruelled us this year and it is just getting worse.

We might as well tank this year because we ain't going to win the flag. At least that way we could get a new coach, possibly Voss, a new player Judd (wishful thinking) and the Number 1 pick. We need to get rid of a lot of dead wood, because we are just useless at the moment

Wow Moloney is injured as well?

The selection for this game was absolutely pathetic, as was gameday coaching. I have never ever said ND has to go, but if this keeps up I will want a Longmire/Voss to replace him. We have a team full of soft frontrunners, and only three hardnuts to inspire our team: Neitz, Brock (injured), Pickett (fat), so who are the team to look up to? White, Bruce, and TJ, who were absolutely soft and quintessentially ND-Melbourne. I desperate want Pickett to get his [censored] together, and the kids to come in a get alot of game time until we have some injury returns. If there isn't a serious injection of youth next week (a la Malthouse Friday night) I will not go to the football. Simple as that.

i thought maloney was good

green ok

bruce ok

pjs last quater and a half at CHB was pretty good

jones second half was good

miller was good all day but the kicking to him and the amount of leads he had ignored or wasted by us stuffing around is criminal, the man battled 2 defenders all game, needs to still work on goal kicking though

Seems to me there will be no need to do any "tanking".

Moloney looked to have pinched something late in the third quarter, and yet they sent him back on. WHY? It's not as if we were actually a chance FFS!

Terrible management of the bench, and even worse, the selection coming into the game was woeful.

We dropped a runner in CJ, only to have tall timber wasting away on the bench. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

The disposal is getting worse each week. It's primary school stuff when players can't hit a target 10m out. Utterly embarrassing!

No accountability, and absolutely no visible game plan. We bottled it up in the second half, as if we were protecting a 70 point lead. What a joke!

Green, Belly, Beamer and Jones can hold their head up. Bruce needs to learn to kick (I will keep saying it every week), picking up possessions as a loose man in the defense is not exactly rocket- science.

Still, according to Bruce on MMM, Daniher was very pleased with our second half...

which is the exact reason why we have never been able to slaughter sides or fight back from a fair defecitmediocrity is an excepted form at our club under our coach

i would rather ND come out and blast the whole team and really rip them to shreds in the media and try and get some hate and desire in to the players

Yep, listening to that while driving home nearly made me crash the car.

He was pleased with our second half because we kicked 5 goals, and so did Geelong. How about the amount of behinds Geelong kicked, or the ease with which they moved the ball, or the fact that our players can't man-up, can't kick, and have absolutely no desire to go at the man with the ball?

How about dropping CJ to bring back Yze, who did absolutely nothing?

How about Jeff White's diminishing ability as a ruckman?

How about Wheatley and Ward playing miles away from their direct opponents?

What about your midfield kicking over the head of Miller 10 times in a row?

How about leaving Jones on the bench at the start of every quarter, when he is the only player with a half a chance of getting an effective clearance?

Nope, we kicked as many goals as Geelong did, so all is peachy at the MFC!

You could add P Johnson in there as well for the scond half...stoped an on fire Mooney and got a bit of it. He looked ok down back.

He's definitely in line for votes, considering how badly everyone else played, and i am looking forward to his development hopefully as our CHB

i didnt listen to triple m on the way home as i rode my vespa which probably was a good thing as if i had of heard that i reckon i would have either crashed the car or turned it around and drove it through the melbourne rooms at 200ks

i loved malthouses reaction to thee honourable loss crap when they lost to west coast

I was much happier with the boys this week, unlike the last 2 weeks, 22 of the players seemed to be trying and each of them gave a stuff. We didnt have as many players cruising and although only a handful played well, the others did not embarrass themselves completely.

Unfortunetly however, the home truths are that we are not a great football side and cannot match it with the best in the comp. Geelong played great football and as Daniher said in his press conference, we couldn't match there skill.

The funny thing is we looked alright around the ground and smashed Geelong in center clearances. The problem lies with the fact your two key fowards are out (we only had 4 or 5 marks inside 50) and our defence is yet again, the key to our problems. For the third week in a row, Carrol got beaten by his player and although you could say it was the delivery into there forward line, its not good enough.

Our skills are terrible, I just sat there amazed at the amount of turnovers we had. We never kick to a players advantage and Brad Miller is lucky to get one kick to his chest each game. Countless times today we just had nothing to kick to, no one presenting but Brad Miller but it seems that the Dees do not like to kick to him. That boy presents every damn time we have the footy and only ever gets it a quarter or so of the time and when he does get it kicked to him its nice and high for the defender to punch it away.

Green was good at full-forward and why he hasn't been played up forward for the past few seasons just astounds me. Bruce was solid again and I did notice an improvement in his kicking. Moloney was great and is a key to our side in the future, if it is true about his injuries then we are in real trouble.

We have been building a side for ages and if this is the outcome to the past few years of building then I seriously begin to question what the hell the matter is with the Dees.

This is clearly Danihers last year and hopefully we get some new blood, a good gameplan and a team that respects there coach for being a coach and not their best friend.

It wasnt all doom and gloom today, as I said earlier, you couldn't question the players commitment and will-power but unfortuently in football, to be a good team, you need more than that.

This could be a very long few weeks until we get some of our injured players back but I am now starting to ask myself: Will they really make a huge difference? The past 3 games could be the indication of a very long season but lets hope not.

at times you could, when pj chased 3 geelong players from the f50 to the wind and beyond whilst green and TJ stood there

i feel for davey he really chased well and when he did tackle the umps never rewarded him

but mostly it was a slight improvment

whos the likely number 1 pick? i hope to god its a 205cm ruckman bc thats exactly what we need. our ruck division is a massive weakness for us?

Q- Cameron wood was picked up after Lynden Dunn...who would people prefer?

Wood looks great i would prefer him espesh considering our desperate need for a ruckman who can contest let alone tap to advantage

Does a 205 cm ruckman have to be any good or just be tall?

In general, considering the amount of personnel we are missing, it was a result to be expected. We didn't play well, especially in the back half, but once it got into the midfield, we more than held our own. It's simply a lack of targets up front that was the problem today. Even with Neitz and Robbo in the team we probably would have lost, but around the ground we were alot better.

Bruce was very good, played the role of loose defender very well, and his kicking was improved.

Johnstone was one of our best, disposal was not great, but he didn't do alot wrong.

Green was excellent up forward, he's a natural up there and needs to play there more often.

Jones had a very good second half, he will be a good player in years to come.

I thought Paul Johnson did very well on Mooney. Mooney was on fire in the first half and PJ did well to stop him.

Davey was improved, chased hard and kept the pressure on.

Overall, I'm not overly disappointed.

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
