Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Yep, well played Misso.

I liked the way how from the very start, he said it would take several years for the fitness and conditioning program to be effective. There were going to be no short-cuts. Honest and real.

I think the clubs fitness suffered since the Balme days... until Misso.

With the average lifespan of an AFL player measured at less than 5 years, Misso's longevity in a competitve industry has been amazing & not only has been a very loyal servant to the Dees but his influence has impacted significantly to our recent success......we have some big shoes to fill!

Good luck to you & your family.

We fell along way short of the best clubs.

But this was the case across the board.

We did not have the staff, coaches, admin and committed young players that we have today.

Whats that word again? Culture?

As we have seen, you need to have a committed and professional club from top to bottom.

Not sure it'll affect one way or another. Mixed reports over the years.

Am sure we'll attract the requisite replacement.

Play on

Wasn’t a fan when he started. Players did lap after lap and had no power.

Also the experienced doctors left in less than ideal circumstances and the current doctor was under qualified/inexperienced for the role. We had the flirtation with Dank as well, was that when Misson had arrived?

Plenty has changed since though and you only have to look at the GC boys comments about Melbourne’s preseason to see standards have risen.

So a credit to Misso and the club for getting things going in the right direction.

Now we have an opportunity to improve things yet again. I’d be looking at Hawthorn, Coll and Richmond where players are very well defined and explosive athletes. Tigers have had a great run with injury and the Hawks are the masters of rejuvenating players.

Misso not getting a lot of love on Social Media that i can see.

Made 1 mistake in 8 years for mine, Viney came back way to early last year.

But then how much does Misso have to rely on Player feedback to make his call?

i think Jack believed he could when he really couldnt...

Lets be honest, he hasn't had the best record of keeping our key players on the track. Peter Jackson announced a review of the sport science department late last year after all the foot injuries and this appears to be a subtle changing of the guard. Well done by mfc for managing his exit the way they have. Don't doubt he tried his best. Not a bad time to be leaving by Misso given that we will reflect on all the injured / rehab players we have at the moment and those that re-injure if we don't make the finals this year. A real possibility unfortunately for those of us that are realists

I did actually but that's another story. Its the only department of the MFC that hasn't moved with the times. We are otherwise a modern football club these days. Maybe you can send me some of your rose coloured glasses ?

Not at all mate. I have been a tough bastard on this club for years.

I just think Dave has done a great Job.

Goodwin’s style of play is extreme. Injuries will happen

Each to their own I guess. I would argue we had injury issues under Roos also, some foot related also

All clubs will get more foot injuries now. The game is continuous running. The stress levels measured must be off the dial

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
