Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

The best trainers were paired with the not so, that's my understanding of what was organized for the "break". I'm pretty sure that a player who was a not so good and then nominated someone else as a not so good wouldn't be teamed up with each other if that's what you're asking.

I don't mind the idea as I think with our new "togetherness" the better trainers would take much enjoyment out of helping a fellow teammate improve and the NQR player could see what the better trainers did in the down time. From my observations and some of the other comments regarding "pairings" this appears to be a very clear strategy to keep players pushing each other. I think the pairings in some of the run throughs,  eg Melksham and Hibberd are pitting mate against mate, in some brother against brother, big ruck against big ruck. I can imagine the coaches going to a really good trainer and saying "look you've nominated x as a not so good trainer, how do you feel about trying to help improve them over the break". I'd think it would form strong team bonds.

Sorry I must have misunderstood. When you said trainers I thought you meant the training staff. I see that you actually meant the players being paired with other players.

I was joking with him a couple of weeks ago, he reckons he has spaghetti arms anyway, seems to have put on a bit of muscle, has been doing a bit of upper body work though, we all forget he still only 22, don't think he will ever be May's size though

Anyone with a tatt of their own surname on them though.... ppffttt

That would be Goody’s influence. Neil Craig made Vince (an average trainer) do everything that Goody (a good trainer) did in the pre-season leading into the 2009 season including all extra sessions etc. Vince won the crows B&F in 2009

Excellent. Enjoy. I can't make it this week so all reports are welcomed by the deskbound.

Hmm.  Resting on your laurels after just the single training report, huh Andy?!  Bit disappointing!  The paperwork can wait!  Us Demonlanders can't!  Kindly re-think your priorities, and re-schedule your time accordingly, young man!

(Consider yourself duly chastised!)

The sudden rise in Bernie's form across the season was a standout net result of the theory in practice. We may tend to overlook the real values associated with Neil Craig and his methods, and vision. We surely all know that Bernie retained his skills set with only minor fluctuations for the consecutive years and it was the MFC that benefited most from this transformation. Thus, I'd like to say a 'sunset' "thank you" to Neil for actualising our pick-up of Bernie the Beast, as fondly remembered by the said Partreek Dangermouse.

My Grandson who is 7 ran a 2K in cross country in 8 minutes 54 seconds so it must have been the time of the day.

That is a neat time for anyone. Interestingly, about 7 year olds:

One of the US' top Sports Science universities in the '80s came up with a novel way to train their athletes - but moreso, to test  a selection of their male Olympic decathletes and heptathlons prior to selection.

Within a large, indoor training facility all 'kitted out' and padded for the untrained 7 year old kids to run wild, each athlete had to team up with one of them and then, mirror and perform each movement and activity that their 'little one' partner performed. It exhausted the athletes in very short time. The best athlete's time recording was to endure 23 minutes of continuous activity at the level performed by his 7 year old partner who was by no means the most energetic of the kids. All of the kids were stopped from this almost riotous, continuous exercise free-wheeling at the 30-minute mark. None were physically spent, at all. All of the kids had so much fun that they attempted to 'carry on' like madmen as they would in their own backyards. No sheet!

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P
