Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Haven’t heard anything regarding Hunt, but it would make sense to include him to get a Hogan trade over the line in a 3 way trade with Brisbane & Freo.

As an example:

Melb lose Hogan & Hunt, gain pick 5 & 11 & a 3rd rounder

Brisbane lose pick 5 & 2nd & 3rd rounders, gain Neale & Hunt

Freo lose pick 11 & Neale, gain Hogan & 2nd rounder

Some more swapping of 2nd & 3rd rounders probably needs to be built in, but I could see it happening. Our footy dept really rates Hunt however, and would do it reluctantly. I think we’d at least need to get a 2nd rounder for him.

Hogan's going nowhere. The club said Hunt is going nowhere. Be happy we have both of them. A year is a long time in football Hogan may change his mind about going back to WA. Unfortunately we can't get May but considering the interest we had in him this year hopefully we have a big chance in getting him next year.

Let’s move this to the ‘confirmed rumours’ thread.

Don’t automatically disbelieve it either.

Makes sense. Hunt has played well against them in the past. I’m sure they remember that huge torp just like we do!

Hunt probably has several suitors. We should not be surprised.

If MFC trade J Hunt I will be very very disappointed - sure he had a crap 2018 but he is one player we should hold onto - has pace , is fearless , can break lines ,  and despite question marks on his disposal he has all the skills just needs to fine tune decision making

We need more fast attacking players not less I sincerely hope he is going nowhere

Doubt it will happen. He will play wing 4 us next year.

offensively he is decent, defensively he is clueless.

There's more to it than that. Offensively he blazes away and his kicking isn't efficient enough, particularly at full throttle. Defensively, he's pretty good one on one and a solid spoiler, he just lacks the two way running and positioning in that defensive side of his game IMO.

Hunt is seriously a very limited footballer.

Poor disposal

Lack of game sense

Poor decision maker

Explosive player who needs to wirk on his tank.

If you're offered what you consider overs you take it

On current form I would agree. I watched him in the VFL GF closely. He had a lack of awareness assessing his options down the field. Pretty much every disposal out of the backline was terrible and the wrong option.

When he first burst onto the scene as a senior player he was our only line breaking defender. His attack on the man and ball was pretty inspiring footy to watch. I'm hoping that he's been out of form due to injury and confidence rather than ability. However his disposal has always been somewhat tunnel visioned.

Agree with your second paragraph which is why I said if the offer is overs you take it.

In a side that lacks linebreakers we can ill afford to lose Jayden Hunt. He ain’t perfect but you’re underrating him. Seen him play some very good footy particularly on the bigger grounds and I can tell you forwards love it when the footy comes in quick and long the way Hunt can thump it in there.

He also doesn’t want for courage. Goes when it’s his turn to go and sticks a decent tackle.

Still young with room for improvement. He’s a keep for mine.

I'd have KK and Fritsch on wings next year, so Hunty is behind a few. He might compete for Lewis' spot if we land May, whose kicking will compliment Salem's and allow us to phase Lewis out (whose lack of pace often out positions us).

With his vertical leap and pace, Hunt may well be better suited to half forward, but then his kicking will need to improve.

I'm with PSD on this one. If you get a decent offer, you pull the trigger.

KK ??? Not really hard at it from what I’ve seen I’m really surprised we are even considering him

I can see why we’re taking on Kolodjashnij but I do think some are jumping the gun on him being a walk up in our starting 18. Hasn’t really fired a shot for two years and GCS clearly think there are lingering concussion related issues.

Not everyone is as tough as Gussy Brayshaw. Not going to be easy for Kolo.

You don't come 2nd in a B&F in an AFL environment at the tender age of 20 if you're soft.

I think you're guessing as to whether he's "hard at it" or not.

If we can get him physically right to play he'll be a tremendous acquisition.

It would be a measure of Whoreform's status as a destination club and AFL favourite should they get both Wingard and Scully.

There is so much misinformation around it is just laughable.

On the 2nd back page of the Sun today one journo says Langdon staying with the Pies. Underneath another Journo says Pies want Beams, who wants to go back,  but have no picks, so will use what they get in the Langdon trade.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
