Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

West Coast Eagles will be sitting back laughing their heads off at Freo.  They know they have a time which will be top 8 for the next 5 odd years, young midfield group.  They can't wait to get their hooks into Hogan as soon as Kennedy is done, Hogan and Darling set up the Eagles for a couple more potential flags.

Watch this space.

I would not be so certain, on Darling long-term in Perth.

Unless he turns up over at CockBurn, sometime soon.

I would temper laughing at Freo right now. There something more to come. The only plausible thing is they will not trade Neale and won't have pick 5.

Also to accept 5 and 23 for Hogan is just not on. 5 and 11 at worst.

Melbourne are furious after the Dockers declared on Friday they were no longer pursuing Demons forward Jesse Hogan, having backflipped on an in-principle agreement with his management to offer Melbourne pick No.6 for the 23-year-old.

How underhanded is that - to turn around and trade it to Port.  I knew Bell couldn't be trusted.

Had they not made that in principle agreement, this would not have ever got to first base.

It is one thing to p-ss off MFC but not a good idea to p-ss off Jesse's manager by reneging on the deal.  It just makes the manager look a bit foolish to not get the deal done for his player.  So, don't like Freo's chances of Jesse's manager knocking on their door again!

Delighted to keep the big fella, but let's sign him to an extension for three more years asap.

Freo, on this display have no trade credibility at all and Hoges should burn his bridges there. They have treated him appallingly and hopefully he will dismiss them in future,

Yes maybe but at least Schwab left when they were a top 4 side, Schwab done good things for them, people forget that Schwab was a good CEO, once, then he let the power get to his head.

'Did" good things, but otherwise you're right. He was good for Freo and did alright in his first stint with us.

Strangely I don't think I'd want to play poker against Bell.

Either would I. He’d trip over, spill his beer over the table and knock over everyone’s chips!

Bell would stand up at 11PM and say "that's it boys, I'm going home"

The boys: "You're down 300 bucks. Pay up!"

Bell: "Oh no. You only have to pay if you play right to the end. I'm getting out early. That's coz I'm smart."

(Bell then cops a beating like MFC and Hogan would like to give him now)

what is with the fascination of putting Hogan into CHB - does anyone really think the FD would do that?

Must admit, I’m 100% in the same boat. He’s a gun forward, end of story. We are still yet to see his full potential, I would personally have him as a high CHF/forward flanker. I also suggested that we train some defensive capabilities into both he and Weiderman to give them the ability to swing them back. TMac we already can play defensively if needs be so let’s make all of the swing men and suit our needs match by match.

Also West Coast showed that with the right game plan you can play with multiple big men in the team.

I'm not sure if this has been fully played out but I am sure that we being the public are not privvy to all of the machinations of this saga.

However, if Jess Hogan remains at the club for 2019 then I would hope that there is a concerted effort on the part of the club to retain him for longer than one season and that will depend on the professionalism of the club and its employees which includes the playing group.

On playing ability alone however, we know what he's worth - this is not a good start for Peter Bell and the administration at Fremantle who, based on what I've seen, have conducted themselves deplorably.

Also is E'd the stik figure in the Wood-Pile.

He wood be wanting deWeide, out of US.

I reckon Tom Langdon will be seen at Freo, very soon.

The time is now, to get Weides contract extension happening. !

I think it's just Mahoney being pragmatic. Everyone with a half a decent sheep's brain knows that the Hogan trade is the key to any other downstream trade target so why say otherwise? You just make yourself out to look like a dill.

Also, Mahoney has mentioned 'other deals' are reliant on the Hogan trade so the mentioning of May only, is somewhat already diluted by these other possibilities.

I'm not sure you make yourself out to look like a dill if you don't mention May in the Hogan trade.

There's no need to signal your intention. Less is more.

Who then? Can’t be Freo. Even if they’re banking on Hogan coming on the cheap next year this is still a massive balls up for a club that is wallowing down the arse end of the ladder. No guarantees what might happen in 12 months. Garry Lyon got it right - “getting cute” like that has a way of coming back to bite you on the bum. Watch the pressure get heaped on Ross as the losses and thrashings mount next season. No-one at Freo will be laughing then. Absolute idiots.

aha Sherlock.... I was wondering when the manager was going to be mentioned.

Starting to make sense.

Was worried that Mahoney had said 5 and 23 but it was the manager.

It was the dog not barking that was strange Watson.

I’m speechless. Fremantle really are a joke.

Bell thinks he's FBI hostage negotiator quality.

But he has no idea. If he did the opposite and simply accepted everyone's first offer no questions asked, he would have completed the deals Freo need and would be lauded as a genius by his supporters right now.

Would be the first time against decent opposition.

Just think for a moment.

MFC want May....not Hogan.

Load ... repeat....load.... repeat.

May will make Hogan sook.

I was hoping it would be MFC May....Freo Hogan when that happens.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
