Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Some big marks taken last night on the end of some ordinary disposal from both teams due to the pressure. Didn’t see any supporters blaming their respective midfielders.

Well the Tiger supporters should be blaming their mids.

I have said previously the threat isn't Freo it's Meth Coast. Jesse's contract ends at a time which is perfect for them Kennedy will be done Le cras will be done and Natanui's wage will be significantly lower.

I hate them but they are well run and any leaks from them are deliberate

yep and we would get pick 20 or thereabouts in return. Even if we keep him it would be overs from a dollar perspective.

Oh so blind are those that do not see.

Sign him or trade him this year.

The one worry I have with Jesse is the feeling that he's going to be the super talented guy who breaks down every year and never lives up to his potential because of the never-ending rehab. I would love to know what our medical staff think about him.  It's just possible that two top ten picks could turn into a bargain for him.

Yeah, who needs a talented forward who could turn out to be the next Josh Kennedy.

Or someone who might drop his head, play for frees, half hearted second efforts and go sookilala if it's not his day.

No he doesn't do that all the time...but does often enough for some to take notice

Anyone thinking he was the difference yesterday is kidding themselves.

Hogan would have kicked 50 this year - he is a player who kicks goals each week. Tom Macdonald and Weiderman are not players who kick goals each week.

Tom McDonald kicked 53 goals this year you clown.

Saying Hogan should be traded is stupid when clearly he is our best forward option by a mile. Not say Tom Mac isnt good or Weiderman wont be good... nust pointing out those saying we should trade him obviously dont look at the statistics.

maybe you might want to study those same statistics closer :)

He wouldn't have been the difference clearly, but he played better yesterday than our 2 key forwards and for that matter our 2 key backs and he wasn't even on the ground.

this is an embarassing comment. josh kennedy is a coleman medalist that excels in defensive pressure. Hogan is one of the worst in the comp for his pressure. If tom mcdonald couldn't have an impact in yesterdays game, no chance hogan wouldve gone near it.

Round, opponent, score, disposals, marks

Round 1 :  Geelong 3.0, 16 & 3

Round 2 : Brisbane 5.1, 22 & 9

Round 3 : North 1.2, 26 & 7

Round 4 : HAWKS 1.1, 24 & 3

Round 5 : TIGERS 2.2, 22 & 9

Round 6 : Bombers 2.1, 8 & 5

Round 7 : St.Kilda 3.1, 25 & 7

Round 8 : Suns 3.0, 22 & 8

Round 9 : Carlton 1.1, 15 & 6

Round 10 : Crows 5.0, 20 & 11

Round 11: Bulldogs 5.1, 19 & 10

Its at this point here people were saying he’s in AA form. 10 goals 1 from his last 2 games with a 31 for the year so far. The stage was set for something special on QB, and we got this....

Round 12 PIES 0.1, 17 & 3

Round 13 : Bye

No need to panic it was just a one off, or was it....

Round 14 : PORT 0.1, 12 & 2

Round 15 : Saints 3.2, 15 & 4

Round 16 : Freo 2.3 19 & 7

Round 17 : Bulldogs 4.1, 18 & 9

More goals against weaker clubs and all is forgotten again. Hold on....

Round 18 : GEELONG 1.1, 14 & 4

Rd 19 : Crows 1.0, 10 & 4

After yesterday’ loss many are now saying he’s been playing injured for weeks, so to help him recover the gets him to line up against the hapless Suns.

Round 20 : Suns 4.1, 22 & 10

Not bad for someone playing injured. But then again as some have already alluded to, a lot of players are carrying injuries this time of year, it all depends on whether or not it suits your narrative.

Round 21 : SWANS  1.3, 19 & 4

The games where the opponents names are in capitals are games where he needed to deliver. You could go into it more and look at how many of those behinds were easy misses, or like yesterday his disposal efficiency which was yesterday quite low. We are yet to play the Giants or the Eagles but looking at that the games against the other 5 top 8 sides and Geelong who are currently 9th there is a clear trend, and that is he goes missing in big games. Again, he’s not the player many thought he was going to become.

The club should be open to trading him but we don’t need more kids, line up and a ready made player and make it a three way trade.

Just reposting this in the hope some others might get some context on Hogan, his goals for the year and his inability this year to influence certain games.

you can show me all the stats in the world. im sure you couldve shown similar stats to prove watts was decent.

at the end of the day he offers 0 forward pressure. 0! he is not a great kick for goal and is mentally weak. no surprise he was no loss in finals and he is only best 22 if he fixes his attitude.

Thankyou...its valuable context.

I dont think anyone really thinks the lad isnt talented. It's a very one sided extrapolation to say he'll be as good as Kennedy.

That said it would not surprise me if WCE made a play for him

People need to quote posters correctly. I said he COULD  become our Kennedy not that he is.

I’ve shown you he has kicked 60 more goals in the same games as Kennedy and you dismiss it as just a stat. Then you say  stats could show Watts was decent. Unbelievable.

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
