Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

So would losing Stratton and O’Meara be like us losing Hibbo and Brayshaw? Just trying to work out a closish like for like. I must admit I don’t know much about Stratton but if so it’s a couple of top ten players out for them. Huge.

Best mullet in the game since Dunstall and Dermie, Stratton is a huge loss, and my hawks mates are getting on Melb 38+, after hearing about JO'M... Same Hawk mate gave me 2 awesome tickets P22 row A as he will be golfing away. Being in Eutope i made some younger brothers happy. He even promised me his GF ticket should we make it that far, so am hoping he's made a good punt.

The downside is that, with no one around I've been lingering around Demonland a lot and appears the site has now been blocked. I have to put in a request to IT to have it unblocked lol Gotta prove it's of value to my work.

Studies show that listening to music, having pictures in your workspace, and browsing Demonland all increase productivity.

If they aren't moved by scientific evidence, try crying and begging.

Long Lunch at the Bot. Walk down Anderson Street in the sun, no jacket required

Find my seats get a beer and ready  ready to rumble. Honestly doesn't get any better than this.

So relaxed now we are in Finals and  result today doesnt matter as much but  still want to smash the Hawks.

I reckon we win by 8 points (but could go either way).

Hawthorn are a proud club. They will not want a straight sets exit again.

The thing that we need to look out for are structures around the ball. The Hawks will try to suck numbers away from the ball so they can get their kicking game going. I hope Jack's leadership and ability to set up around the contest will help.

Tempo is also important Round 4 and Round 21 were textbook in how to beat us. We started both games well but as soon as that initial burst of energy subsided, the Swans and Hawks picked us apart by reading the tempo better.

Anyway, I have a 28 k run tomorrow so I can't be more alcoholically propelled than usual for the game. I'm either going to wake up inspired or angry. Either way, I hope it gets me through.

With Stratton and now O'Meara out, the ducks seem to be lineing up for us to shoot them down.  But recent history shows that that's when we are at our most vulnerable, and Clarkson is a canny coach.  Another day of reckoning for our team.  I think we will get over the line, but geez, I'm as nervous as all hell.  Go Dees!

no team walks into a semi final overconfident. Not if the coaching is half decent. It’s all so new to this team I reckon they’re going to b so pumped. 2 weeks running of 90 plus crowds , a game style they trust, a coach they love, some outright guns and a work ethic only rivalled by the Tigers.

Dees about to send a massive message to the hawks and whole competition. We are THE team to b feared.

Fortunately I have some hard physical work to do today, something I have to focus on. Otherwise I would be a useless mess. I hope I do concentrate because it involves a lot of chainsaw use. At least if I do bleed my veins run red and blue.

I am not negative about tonight, but very anxious/excited. Our best is a fair bit better than Hawthorn's, but Clarkson is a brilliant coach. Just because Stratton and O'Meara are out means little to him because the entire Hawks squad is disciplined in applying his game plan whether in VFL or AFL.

I am wary of how he will play Melksham and Brayshaw. If he is able to cover these two the game will be up for grabs.

I have full faith that Harmes will cover Mitchell, but we need to curb Smith, Breust and Gunston. If any one of these three get off the chain the Hawks footy will roll out free and fast.

I am expecting Weideman, Frost and Petracca to stand up big time tonight. Max is a given. Carna Dees. 16 point win.

I’ve got a belly full of bath water that is now repeating real bad as the butterflies try and squeeze in there as well. ?

I am confident though that this team will leave absolutely nothing out there. So long as that happens I’ll live with whatever the result is. We should win though.

I’m sitting in my car typing this. I park in some random suburban street and walk the rest of the way. Some bloke just pulled up behind me and got out with his Dees scarf on. Going to be a good day I think. Lucky I’ve got a day pretty much jammed with back to back things right up until the game is due to start, which will be a welcome distraction.

Same as last week - not nervous. Will be watching the game at home by myself and the phone will be switched off to avoid the socials. Have a lot of Hawthorn mates that are always quick to let you know when they are winning. Obviously hoping that won't be happening.

That would be 4 changes for them going into a semi Final.

Far from ideal for the Dawks.

He wasn't great last week so I'm not sure if it disadvantages them if he does go out. They will probably bring in a mid for him as they haven't brought a mid in for O'Meara yet.

Up at 4.30AM, 3YO sensing tension

5.30AM "Dad can we go feed the goats, pick some mulberries and avos and check the planets?"

Drove all around Lismore with Dees scarf out window.

Old bloke at work caught me at entrance with a chuckle seeing my scarf - "good luck tonight"

It's Australia Vs the Hawks.

At brisbane airport for the second time in a week...hard to justify this type of money as a 20 year old uni student, but I'd do anything for the mighty dees ❤️

Felt confident at the start of the week but the nerves have been growing ever since, I just want the game to start now.

I think our midfield grunt and contested ball depth with get us over the line in the end.

GO DEES

Off to a luncheon where Daisy Pearce is one of the Guest speakers ( with Ling, Del Santo and Brown).

Only one or two brown cordials but mainly water.

Then back to the office - change out of suit into Red and Blue clobber (with red and blue shoes) - then to the 'G

Enjoy a couple of nice brown cordials before the game

And then lose the voice cheering hard for the mighty Dees

It was great speaking with mates last Saturday morning sounding like Joe Cocker - I'm looking for an encore performance

Go Deeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzzz

Try Hogan and Lever. About time the Dawks copped some injuries.

I'm leaving for the airport - I'm coming, Ds are coming!  Oh what a feeling! Bring it on!

12 years since in a final, and we won last week after a few experts said we would miss the 8. Beat hawks tonight and I believe we have done as well as expected, if not better.

We can beat the eagles at home but to be honest the fact we could make a prelim is amazing. Had we not stuffed the two Geelong games we would be where the eagles are now.

2019 will be huge, this year let’s hope we create a fairytale. For many of us that is certainly happening !

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
