Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

The Dockers really have me puzzled. They currently have picks 5, 77 and 95 and, apart from some of their younger brigade who they would want to keep, they don’t have much material for trading. It’s little wonder therefore that they’ve recently re-signed veterans and crocks like Ballantyne, Bennell, Mundy and Sandilands.

I can see their so-called rebuild taking up the life of Ross Lyon’s contract and can’t see them going anywhere very soon.

Everyone will be pushed further back with priority picks and academy selections

Pick 32 could end up closer to pick 40...and the pick we traded for Lever - currently #14 - could be pushed back closer to #20

Lever getting cheaper by the minute I  terms of what picks we gave up.

Saints are also puzzling.  They have picks 3, 57, 61, 63 and somehow they are planning to trade in Hannebery!  Their list is going to be a mess next year.   While Freo have a few stars and a few in the making both will be on the bottom rungs of the ladder for quite a while.

Both Freo and Saints traded are very good examples of future pick trading gone badly wrong.

There was something I heard on SEN about teams - I think they said Carlscum, and maybe BNE and GC$$ - getting free access to the second tier  competitions prior to the draft - sounds like typical BS policy on the run by the ? at AFL HQ.

Lest we forget that is where, though our recruiters’ hard work,  not through gifts from HQ, we found VDB, Hannan and Frisch.

OMG I loathe the current administration of our game.  Gillon can’t get moved  back to polo fast enough.  He is THE worst administrator in AFL VFL history.

Given that we cant give a yelp until pick 33 and it looks like about 25% of our list is moving out we will need to do some fancy trading!

However, we did pick up Max at about 33 I think.

We can also do some fancy trading at the draft table!

There will be Live Pick Trading, so the picks we have at the end of the Trade period are just the starting point as clubs can trade picks to go up or down the order during the draft.

Will be interesting to see if we keep a high pick (4/5/6 or 9/10) from the Hogan trade whether we use it or cash in the chips on draft night!

LPT presents a nice challenge for recruiting staff - much more second guessing other clubs than usual.

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
