Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

It’s like that Xmas Eve when I was a kid and I was sure I was going to get a Mongoose BMX with pegs. Very exciting. Come Xmas Day I got some lime green BMX from Kmart I had to assemble myself. I put it together and ghosted it down Jells Road (Possibly the steepest hill in Melbourne?)

Worst.Xmas.Ever.

Did you put the piece of cardboard in the spokes with a clothes peg?

I was 12 years old on a lime green BMX that had cartoon animal decals on it. There was no way I was going to draw extra attention to myself by making it make extra noise.

You were lucky! We used to dream of having a lime green BMX with cartoon animal decals. Luxury.

While I’m interested in anyone who grew up in Glen Waverley, I’m being a spoiler and making a football observation!

Why do umpires never pay over the mark against Hawthorn or the Swans last weekend.

Last night fourth quarter in last 5-10 minutes, commentator actually called Hawk player for metre over the mark, the fact he’d taken three steps seemed a lot more than a metre. But Hawthorn players are always over the mark and never get pinged!

Why?

Do you need to ask? The answer is obvious.

If we win both games from here, we likely finish 5th or 6th (depending on results in the GWS-Sydney and Sydney-Hawthorn games).

We can still make the top 4 (for those still playing that game) - we need us to win both, Sydney to beat GWS but lose to Hawthorn, and then either Hawthorn loses to St Kilda or Collingwood loses to Fremantle so that we can pass them on 14 wins with our percentage. That means we can theoretically still finish as high as 3rd.

If we win just one game, we'll likely finish 6th-8th (depending largely on what happens with Geelong's percentage and then the results of the GWS-Sydney and Sydney-Hawthorn games).

If we lose both games, we'll finish 8th if Port lose to Essendon and North lose one game. We'll finish 9th if only one of things happens (i.e. if Port wins or if North wins both). We'll finish 10th if neither of those things happens (i.e. Port wins and North wins both).

I believe now this works as follows:

  1. If we win both we finish 5th (4th if Fremantle upsets Collingwood) and we host Geelong (unless they somehow lose to GC)
  2. If we win one but lose the other we'lll likely finish 8th. If our win is against WC then we'll play GWS, if our win is against GWS then we'll play the loser of Sydney-Hawthorn
  3. If we lose both but scrape into the finals (requires North to lose a game and Port to lose to Essendon), then we finish 8th and we get GWS unless Fremantle beats Collingwood, in which case we'd get Collingwood.

A friend of mine at school was killed riding a bike in Jells Road. He was aged around 10 years from memory. A truck hit him.

they had an off night and still won. We at the MFC can only dream such scenario’s.

It will be forgotten about by Monday afternoon

Clarkson looked savage on that result. Nothing will be forgotten by Monday.

Incidentally, if the Saints were paid the 50 metre penalty they deserved with about one minute 30 left on the clock Clarkson would have been in an even darker mood. Amazing that umpires are red hot on players in the 'protected zone' even when they are clearly trying to avoid interfering with play, yet they don't pay the age old 50 metre penalties that are so often there for stepping a metre or two over the mark.

Saints needed a lucky break...like an umpire doing the job properly...and didn't get it.

Fair enough. Didn’t see the game, just followed the scores.

Still reckon after a monday morning review, it will be forgotten.

Whorethorn always move forward. Lucky pricks

Dees in the finals.  Yeah!

Crows did the right thing and knocked North out of the running.

Essendon also out of the running.

Yes...a very, very good weekend!

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
