Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

This raw after today but, sat near this Swans fan that was so smug and arrogant all he did was bag our players, our supporters and and thought the umpires gave Sydney the rough end of the stick.

Every time Buddy and Aliir got the ball he was calling them absolute champions

Like Geelong I’m tired like all of us losing to this mob. Frustrated now having a beer

Come On Dees

This guy just never gave it a rest even with there success they have had as a fan it just rubs salt in the wound, I pretty sure most opposition clubs fan hate other sides fans

That's what happens when you only have 20 players and beat a team with 22. Only the Demons can do that. I am just waiting for the day that we can be arrogant but now 65 and don't know how long I can wait

The Swans won away, with only half a bench, against a team who only needed opne win to make finals, and THEY are arrogant??

We got what we deserved, and so did the Swans.

Dont whine that we were not good enough. We werent.

Sometimes the truth hurts.

One day, after we've won 6 or 7 flags in a decade, I'd like to be that arrogant.

I expect by then we'll be widely seen as the custodians of the deeper soul of football, using our extreme ability to play a graceful and tough style and using our overwhelming footy-political influence to prevent idiot rule changes and to drive support for the lower tier competitions.

Hmm, I guess that's pretty arrogant too, but at least we wont be spoiling it for others, because they'll feel good just knowing they've put up a good showing against the greatest team of all time. And we'll still clap their good play, because that's the proper way, ol' chap.

You have alluded to your ability in this regard on a number of occasions Ethan and, I must say, such high level skills are laudable.

However, it begs the question about the supply of  …. err … ammunition. Do you carry, shall we say, a magazine or is there some spontaneity  involved?

Simple comeback to those types is how do they feel about a team from another city thay deserted them. They hate the concept and it just makes them angrier.

It can also apply to smartarse lions supporters when appropriate.  It doesnt matter for suns or gws as those teams are artifical constructs.

If youve ever spent considerable time in sydney you'll realize how irrelevant the club is in the greater scheme up there.

That would be 70,000 members irrelevant with the ability to attracted the best players in the game? Mmmmmmm..............

You meet numpties from every club.

When we beat the Puddies in Geelong three years ago, their supporters said 'Well done!' and let it be. Three years later we are punching on with them.

Only club I haven't met a good supporter from is Hawthorn. Mostly because they have sat mostly through 40 years of success and haven't had to sit through the poo we have team resulting in a supporter base with all the moral fibre of a policeman in Sydney during the 70's.

I ran that argument around the 3rd quarter. Asking him whether he'd followed the bloods in the 90s and how it must be fantastic to follow a team who imports all their marquee players. Sydney is a plastic club with a boring game style. But I still hate copping it as you walk out. Lowest way of giving someone a serve

This is a club that is used to playing finals year after year. There is a general feeling of expectation and they know they can get it done. Much like Hawthorn, a lot of their fans are usually quite confident of knocking us off whenever they play us. We on the other hand are not even close to this mentality. We go into games like this feeling nervous and if we’re honest pretty unsure if we can even do it. Mate we even go into Gold Coast games with half an eye on the doomsday scenario! There’s the difference.

Finals are expected and something that just happens for them, hell even premierships are something that just ‘happens’. Much different philosophy to us.

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
