Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I always thought we wouldn’t get far with Harmes and ANB in the side. I was very wrong - both have become important cogs in the wheel.

And a major part of that wheel is Max Gawn. If he does not get up for this game then we are in serious trouble. Timing sucks doesn’t it.

We haven’t made finals yet Chook let alone done anything in them.

In saying that agree they are good cogs to have. Harmes in particular provides a vital role being able shut down a good opposing player and still get plenty of it himself. Both have improvement in them yet.

Dickson and Dal Santo on Fox claiming Oscar has to be the match up for Franklin due to a “lack of other options”. Then went on to speak about the need to cut down Buddy’s leading space and nullify his athleticism.

Not a single, solitary mention of Frost.

Can the bar for footy analysis actually get any lower?

Perhaps ANB out?  He's clocked up a power of kms- given SCG is smaller he could freshen for WC.

And JKH, it doesn't seem right to run him up to finals.

3 changes, probably too many.

Hope you haven't bought a ticket to Sydney.

Keep Franklin relatively quiet and we win.  To me it is that simple.  We easily match them all over the ground, but Franklin is the X-factor.  Let him get off the leash and we have a serious game on our hands.  Keep him out of the action most of the time and I fail to see how they can kick a winning score against the best offense in the league.

Dees by 5 goals.

Frost v Franklin is the key

Have we really only played the Swans once a season since 2010?

Integrity of the draw?

I’d like to Kent and Hunt come in for smith and Vince, swans aren’t a quick team and I think we could stretch them with some pace of our own. No need to bring in another tall for Smith as he isn’t a genuine tall always and Swans only have 1 tall worth worrying about in Buddy.

Looks like the rain is coming Saturday now, so might not be a bad call if they are fit.

The last waltz is arguably the greatest ever rock film. Well, second. Spinal tap being number 1.

Happy to argue with you about that but then again the list would be pretty short to non existent.

Rock is a live experience, films & documentaries about it are for the most part self serving and/or fan boy rubbish.

The best thing about the Last Waltz is it gave Rob Reiner good material for Spinal Tap.

In many ways Spinal Tap got closer to reality than many of it's more "serious" counterparts.

Yeah, looks like it's likely to be pretty wet - potentially stormy. I'm not sure that helps us.

Been some great live Rock Movies

”Ladies and Gentlemen” from 1972 was recorded and presented in theatres as full Quadraphonic.

Nothing self serving about that one. Just a Rock Band at the peak of their powers.

I don't think so. The key will be how well we stop and/or pressure the ball coming him to him.

If their mids and medium forwards are kicking it in to him under minimal pressure he will kill whoever is on him and get a bag.

Tge other key will be drying up other scoring options. As i noted previously they will need to score close to 100 points to beat us and will happily give buddy 5-6 goals if he is the only scoring option.

One thing i really like about frost on buddy is that im sure goody will instruct him to run off buddy, which will exspose his current lack of fitness and pace.

If buddy is not scoring goals he is almost a liability, particularly on the wide spaces of the g, given how restricted he is (and how damaging his running is when fit).

Smart move to look to exspose/exploit this lack of pace and abilty to apply forward chasing pressure. The suggestion they might look to bring hunt in fots with this as his pace would further exploit buddys imabilty to chase or get up rhe ground.

What did he say about Gawn?

We need Gawn. Simple. Play him , win and rest for 3 weeks prior to finals.

I here steroids are good at fixing aches and strains. Peptides harder to pick up. Sorry though we were playing Essendon.

Get Gawn In!

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
