Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

How much did we lose by? 20 goals?

I understand why it's so negative after taking a loss like that, but going by the above it sounds like we lost by 12 goals, not by 2 points.

The one I do want to bring up is JKH - I think the bloke has done his dash as an AFL player.  You could argue he deserved to be rewarded for strong form at Casey, but I just don't think he's an AFL level player.  Just the 14 touches, missed a crucial shot in the last and just doesn't seem to do a whole lot with his possessions.  I'd be very, very surprised if he got another game.

Tyson wasn't too flash either but at least he looked more comfortable around the ball.  21 touches and 12 contested possies is his go, but you would much rather Viney in there doing that stuff.

Hasn't been the same player since Lever went down.   Hasn't worked into the same synergy with Frost as yet, plus no Hibberd hurt.

However, Hawkins took him to the cleaners tonight.  No argument there.

Well, for all OMAC bashers  out there (I’m normally one of them) he did rebound nicely a few times coming off his man given that Hibberd wasn’t around. He was mostly failed by the decision makers, before the game by not putting a stronger body on Tom, and during the match when conceding a few, wasn’t switched to someone else. Frost looked hungry and capable tonight- could’ve done the job.

Almost warrants a thread really, seriously what has happened to Dom Tyson’s career. Highly rated youngster who showed all the right signs early but looks almost lost these days.

Agree quite strongly, two nice rebounds from OMac set the game up. This is obvious, surely? It gave us some new hope not seen in other games this year - or last year, for that matter. Then, he lost it, totally.

Hibberd, Viney and Speed were great losses tonight. Pedo should have been a back pocket tonight, changing at CHF - supporting both OMac and Hogan, Gawn and Spargo and Jeffy.

ANB was off with the pixies and the deadly momentum wasters (Vince and Lewis) could seriously think of how they could be paying the MFC back for all of their limited contributions.

Harmes, Gus, Oliver and Fritsch worked hard.

OMac undid all of their hard work.

No of course I don’t but can we get some perspective here? Not everyone had a shocker in a three point loss where we should’ve, could’ve but didn’t and no help from the Umpires by the way. A blood rule not happening against Max or perhaps Tracca holding onto the ball longer and we maybe win.

I don’t think we will make finals now and we need to do a lot more work and let’s hope we can get our best players on the park for most of a season next year. I also believe our game plan doesn’t help our players to achieve their best.

Had another look - counted 6 players who may have won their spots ,made a difference or played well ( according to your 3 word summary )  - and we lost by 2 points ! Your three word summary is not worth 3 words - two will do - mostly crap! /

JKH has had 5 yrs & still plays like a deer in headlights. He may be a good VFL player but an AFL he is not. He is 2 timid & lacks composure. He is delist material. He can't cut it. I was prepared 2 give him the benefit of the doubt but when he missed that easy crucial shot because he didn't steady it highlighted to me that he can't play under pressure & we need to find players who hold their nerve.

I'm ashamed to even read these above words! joeboy you must of been an amazing player!

Where to begin.

Fritsch was awesome tonight.

Spargo very good again.

Clarry very good.

Big Max Awesome.

Jordan Lewis classy.

Frost was good.

Jones played well as usual.

Angus good and spirited.

Harmes was busy retarding there's.

Jeffy not so good.

Jake Melk great when he was there.

Petracca doing good things.

Nev Jed great.

Big Tom fantastic.

Dom better, but still problematic.

Joel smith great fighting ability and still very promising.

Salem class.

Bernie. Reassures us. (Back off haters).

Kennedy looking fitter.

Oscar exposed again.

Jesse good when in possession.

We lost when we should of won. Jones needs to command more off the ball. Composure in the final minutes could of won this match.

We lost when we should of won, so I personally look at all the positives.

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
