Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Who do we realistically target for a trade?

Whispers are being whispered about unhappy players at St Kilda. Will Jacks Steele, Billings and Steven request a trade if Richo stays on? Stay tuned. #WhispermethisETthetradewhisperer.

Scully will end up at Hawthorn. Gut feeling only.

I thought he'd signed for another four years after his initial 6 year contract. I'd suspect he'd be well compensated but nowhere near the level of his original deal. Unlikely to be a salary cap dump option.

Maybe he went somewhere to just check out the facilities while he's been injured

Hopefully he brought his dad with him for support.

And to offer himself up as a coach in a package deal.

Scully's old man is an expert in the field of talent spotting and recruitment if memory serves me correctly.

Wouldn't mind picking up Hugh Goddard as a DFA.

St Kilda supports don't rate him at all. Too slow for defence and doesn't have the smarts as a forward is what I've often heard.

Sounds like what I heard about Melksham from Essendon supporters

It is rumoured that GWS have to offload about a mill off their salary cap next season. This is why there is all the noise around Shiel and Scully. Ironic that Scully's hefty contract may come back to bite him.

free agent

Andrew Gaff obviously

trades

1. Sam Hayes for Jkh trade or

Tom Cutler for Jkh trade

2. Need to get to 4 picks (33, 43, 51, 56)

Suns Pick 56 for Tom Bugg

Either the above option rather than delisting Bugg and Jkh which would happen post trade period.

3. Tom Campbell (dogs) for MFC pick 88

2016 All Australian Jasper Pittard has been thrown on the table by Port, any good?

Rather poke my eye out with an ice pick than consider Jasper Pittard a target.

Hawks, Tigers, Collingwood, Essendon, Port, Geelong all look like playing a big part in trade week / free agency, we must be active, must improve our list.

Hoping the footy department team is working hard in the background...

I reckon they're probably just sitting around all day long playing cards and reading demonland to see which players they should get.

I assume you mean Sam Mayes from the Lions? Sam Hayes is a ruck for Port who did his ACL - I thought we should have taken him in last years draft and he slipped down to pick 47 (after some believed him to be a top 20 pick), but we went with Fritsch and Petty with our picks before that.

There was some talk of being interested in Cutler last off-season but he's best 22 for the Lions and is still contracted for another 12 months, so they'll want more than JHK.

People are scared of going backwards or standing still, but sitting on our hands this trade window isn't a bad thing. We paid overs for Lever and now we have to 'honour' the deal and work with what we got, which isn't much.

The thing we've always needed since Roos began his rebuild is time and experience. We drafted some old heads in to support the kids, but now it's time the kids get the time. Another year with the same 30 odd players we've used this season while maybe trying to get more games into Baker and Petty is only going to benefit us.

Like i've mentioned before in this thread, Josh Kelly will be wanting to move at the end of next season and if we sit on our hands this season or maybe make some draft moves to try and improve our hand for when he wants to move i'd think we'd be the favourites to get him. Consider our position on the ladder (hopefully top 8 or even top 4), premiership window, offering a decent wage, victorian boy and isn't he good friends with Tyson.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
