Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I can see the Saints smashing Carlton tonight. Harry Mckay having a strong game, which just piles more pressure on Bolton.

Carlton are in a horrible state. Its so bad that it's not even amusing to make fun of their supporters anymore ?

... and we've been there!

I reckon Walker will just get the 1 week.

Incident will be deemed as medium impact as the Geelong bloke came back on and didn't have concussion.

That’s what I was thinking unless he has some delayed concussion, MRP Always ban the outcome not the action 1 week at worst

Reminds me of our game against the Blues. Sitting with niece...an ardent Blue, during the last QTR she asked me if Melbourne could stop. She said it's not funny any more. I also conveyed...I knew that feeling.

Bolts is nutted.... walking dead.

Was a very good game to watch last night.

Didn't seem to be over umpired and the game flowed. The break aways on the scoreboard followed by Geelong reeling it back added to the excitement in that it wasn't your classic arm wrestle where only a few points separate the teams.

Just wondering if anyone knows why it felt so open as a game? Was there a particular tactic or was it just luck.

Yep,

When a team is down, you expect to see the wheel turn, however it took a very long time for our club to turn things around, Carlton arguably are taking even longer than we did. Gold Coast and Brisbane similarly, although the Lions look ok in the next couple of years.

Free Agency has not helped the plight of supporters at the base of the ladder, one bit! But again it's not easy for the players to be smashed for so long either.

It's a key reasons why the MFC has to take on some opportunities with Free Agency (like Gaff etc) because they are the free hits that we get whilst we are seen as a destination club on the way up... and it's why your list managers are probably the most crucial member of the football dept.

Manipulation by umpires is why

2006? (cannot remember but I think that was when we were last in the finals) until ???.

That's a long time by any measure

I agree with your comment if we are measuring as 'ultimate success' i.e in terms of premierships. However if we are talking in terms of a team and their likelihood to front up to a game ... or a season and not have any hope except for the following seasons draft.... all supporters want a premiership, but we are sustained by watching our teams play week to week. Fronting up knowing that the odds see you getting flogged by the opposition .... sustained periods of that scars clubs and supporters!

I haven't got a lot of doggies supporters as mates, but how would they feel at the moment, on one hand they got a premiership, but the success was so short lived that the premiership might actually feel bitter sweet. They are now seen as 'one hit wonders' and every subsequent season to that premiership has been deemed as a massive disappointment... and it's not like built towards a premiership at their peak, they fluked it on a 4-5 week hot streak!

FYI (Kardinia Park): I live 20km from this dump and refuse to attend our games there (every bloody year) on principal.

I have Platinum/Legends mship which gets me into all MCG and Etihad games.

But not K Park.

I go to all other Vic games and at least one interstate games each year.

Our cheer squad get shafted - placed on a flank as seats behind the northern goal (non Cats cheer squad end) fetch a premium.

If you roll up and expect to get $25:GA you may be disappointed. Even though it won't be sold out they'll tell you that you need to pay $35 min. for a seat.

They treat opposition supporters with utter contempt.

Furthermore, night games can be dangerous for visiting supporters. Their supporters have spent all arvo in the pubs.

I urge all MFC suuporters to boycott this game.

Yeah that will help, let’s not turn up

Carlton by 27 tonight. 4 score reviews in which 2 will be incorrect. Charlie Curnow to dominate and kick 7.

If you own a rent-a-crowd business, you’ve done well this week.

Saints reduced tickets down to $13. Wait for an hour before the game and I'm sure you will be able to snap them up for $5. Bargain - maybe not. Yawnfest coming up.

I am very wary of foods in KL (seriously), 2 years ago i ate something whilst there, that gave me stomach cramps for 3 days and i needed 2 week long doses of antibiotics.

Pity. Because KL is a cool city

That's a shame ..the food in Malaysia is pretty good but after a while you can get tired of it. The fresh produce is great value at the local markets.

Must say my favourite for Asian street food is Vietnam ... the flavours are so wonderful.

If want to live on the wild side try India ... have been there a few times now and lived on the street food without problems. Mind you sitting in the gutter watching the pigs scavenge nearby as you munch on your puri can be a little off putting for newcomers ?

Nothing beats a cheap airfare and a small backpack ?

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
